VCS Claim Form

Hi guys,

I do have an old thread from 2015 but it is closed;

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5343845/vehicle-control-services

Last week I received a Claim Form from County Court Business Centre, I have completed acknowledgment of service form online as outlined in the FAQ, I have not sent a Subject Access Request, should I be doing this now?

I've been reading a few threads on cases won and the defense letters are flying right over my head.

The car was pulled over with hazards on due to a flat tyre which upon inspection decided was drive-able to the closest garage, is that a sufficient defense?

Any help would be massively appreciated, I was going to have a bash at writing my defense this week as it needs to be in shortly.

#2 in the FAQ should be your Bible now you have a claim.

SAR is covered there. Send it!

What is the Issue Date on your Claim Form?

Did it come from the County Court Business Centre in Northampton, or from somewhere else?

Issue date is 01/07/2019 and yes it's come from Northampton County Court Business Centre.

Will drill through #2 on FAQ some more this evening.

With a Claim Issue Date of 1st July, and having done the Acknowledgement of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 5th August 2019 to file your Defence.

That's four weeks away. Loads of time to produce a perfect Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.

When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as suggested here:
      Print your Defence.
    1. Sign it and date it.
    2. Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
    3. Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
    4. Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
    5. Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defence received". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
    6. Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to keep you under pressure.
    7. Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to find out exactly what to do with it.
