Portable mobile phone power bank

Look for "EC Technology" power banks on Amazon. I was a little weary at first, as I'd never heard of the make before. But I rate it much better than the Anker or RAVPower power banks that I've had in the past and you get a little more for your money just because you're not paying for a well known brand.
Thanks poppellerantI've been considering buying a powerbank as I travel quite a lot and its not always convenient to plug into mains. iPhone SE, (husband has my old 4s and an iPad)
This one looks powerful enough for my needs. Its really just an emergency backup:o

Ive got this 1 OP https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Portable-bar-Sized-High-Speed-Technology/dp/B00P8SY7HQ/ref=pd_sbs_107_2/261-8295355-4866646?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00P8SY7HQ&pd_rd_r=19e5d6d3-a648-11e9-a0e7-ff5133ca3569&pd_rd_w=rlhtD&pd_rd_wg=LAFcn&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=GXZC48ATZ1B9YPP7RFFP&psc=1&refRID=GXZC48ATZ1B9YPP7RFFP0 -
Be careful with the maths on power banks. You can’t just divide the power bank battery capacity by the phone’s capacity to get the number of charges. For example, if your phone has a 4000mah battery and the power bank has 8000mah then,
After the 1st charge the battery bank will have 4000mah left.
For the 2nd charge, the battery bank can’t push the 4000mah into the phone - you’ll end up with 2000mah in the phone and 2000mah in the power bank.
So, an 8000mah battery pack will fully charge a 4000mah phone a maximum of 1.5 times. In reality it will be less than this.
There are a lot of assumptions such as the phone battery is always fully depleted and there is 100% efficiency (you’ll lose some power to heat, transmission loss, etc).0 -

TBH in my case, I'm much less worried about how many times it will charge my phone, as it really is only for a belt & braces emergency back up.
I'm far more concerned about buying a cheap (Chinese?) rip off of a known make, which either doesn't work, or even worse, melts or otherwise self destructs.0 -
Grateful for opinions on these 2. For emergency charging of iPhone SE & iPad

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life but I am after a new power bank, preferably around the £10 to £15 mark. I've got an eBay voucher to use hence getting another one - there is nothing else I need from eBay.
Any suggestions? I've seen a few but the sellers are in China or Japan which gives me the willies. Any advice would be more than welcome.
I know Anker are really good but the prices are a bit too high for my liking,0 -

I know Anker are really good but the prices are a bit too high for my liking,You get what you pay for. I'd run a mile from any such devices of unknown brand coming from China, or anywhere else for that matter.Modern lithium batteries have known safety risks and have to be manufactured to certain standards. Chinese manufacturers won't hesitate to put whatever "CE" marking is required on a battery for our market.

I wouldn't buy this from ebay if you want to avoid dangerous fakes.mimi1234 said:Sorry for bringing this thread back to life but I am after a new power bank, preferably around the £10 to £15 mark. I've got an eBay voucher to use hence getting another one - there is nothing else I need from eBay.

I bought a belkin 20,000 mAh from John Lewis a month or so ago for about £30, but they also have a 10,000 for £17.991 -
Cannot find the picture of the 3000mAh 18650 battery with a 110mAh battery and some white powder (flour)? The sellersclicked to people weighing the batteries and finding them too light to be real so they filled them with flour or sand etc. This is an example... https://spinfuel.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/fake-battery-SAND.pngBuy a proper brand or cross your fingers its not too bad and wont burn your house down.CE markings, China Export...
