hi all if theres anyone that does paintwork on cars would be a help
bit of advice needed, my car ive had from new 13 plate, and full dealers services etc, this year cost a 1500 for its mot pass, full set of pads dics tyres part a down pipe rear coil spring all done and passes, so now i am wanting to keep the car 31k on clock, but she has a cpl scratches on her due to age inc a full respray on front bumper

the garage i will be using is tried and tested, its a back street garage cash only wink wink lol, but do a excellent job
will they do touch ups or a full respray to match it and cheaper in labour ive no idea and length of time it will take , its a vauxall cascada like a insignia

  • Pay cheaply you'll pay twice as much in this game. Quality over cost every time. money is prep work, less you pay, the less prep work, the worse the outcome of the end product that's a fact.
  • seen the results from this garage stood the test of time

Front bumper stone chips is from driving to close to the car in front especially on a motorway type road, Seems a lot to have to spend on a low mileage newish car, it maybe a Vaux but come on is it a taxi or something?
  • the full bumper is due to try to get the car fully on my drive, it got a scratch and then got chips away in to repair it , not cheap, 12 months down the line its looks crap, been like that ever since, i will be getting prices in my area ive looked on google reviews theres 1 garage local getting 5s 25 reviews supporting local co etc, will give a few a check over

the mileage says it all what i do, work back home and shopping run, repeat work, return home thats it, fully looked after and still under the lifetime warranty (just incase)

I'm surprised the downpipe isn't under warranty, if it's still under the "lifetime" warranty.

The rest...? Well, let's start with the MOT standard for tyres being exactly the same as the legal standard... And the fail standard for brakes is somewhere just above "lethally lousy".
so now i am wanting to keep the car 31k on clock, but she has a cpl scratches on her due to age inc a full respray on front bumper
31k in 6yrs, and you've managed to batter it to the stage that it needs a full respray?
the garage i will be using is tried and tested, its a back street garage cash only wink wink lol
Now I'm suspecting a troll, but...

Umm, we can't see the car, so it's impossible to say how bad the old paint is.

A Cascada is nothing like an Insignia. It's a convertible Astra.
  • downpipe not covered

most work done before it went in for its service
4 uniroyal tyre supply nd fitted national 440, local mot garage i supply ferodo pads nd dics aprox 90 per set (180 in total)
labour 120, tracking at national offer same time as tyres 20,
conmen dealers screwed me, done the mot 1st failed it rear coil spring i went off it, this should have had its service 1st and that should have picked it up, anyway thats another story, with the down pipe dealer part only another 200 inc fitting, rear coil another 200, replace brake oil 30 mot 30, full service 250, and that comes knocing on 1500, now imagine i how i felt over that month

So would you rather spend good money on a service to find it fails due to welding and uneconomical to repair?
