Hand car wash damage
I got my car cleaning by a hand car wash at the weekend.
Once it had come out I thought that they hadn’t cleaned the suds off it as it looking like bubble marks round the rim. When I walked over to her she said my car was damage and wasn’t from them before looking.
When they did come and look they said my car had been burned and this was damage that wouldn’t come off and wasn’t from them.
I have contacted the franchise owner who said they would mediate between us to solve the problem.
Within the same day came back stating the damage wasn’t from them be except no liability.
My car is brand new and the damage wasn’t there before.
Now that the company says they don’t except liability does anyone know what step I could take next.
I’m 100% sure they have down the damage but unfortunately don’t have a picture before to prove this?

The rim? How do you think they burned your car?0

I don’t know what it’s called. But the rim down the roof of both sides of the roof?
Also around all the windows.
It’s not the metal part of the car so it’s obviously something they’ve used that took the paint off those parts .
I spoke to a friend who’s a professional car cleaner who said it looked like they’d used ‘tfc’ ( I think this is what it’s called) meant for tyre to get off oil.
He said they could of done it accidentally by using the same cloth.0 -
Have you got a picture?
I have been a keen detailer of cars for a good few years now and I don't know of any cleaning product that is able to strip the clear coat and cause damage to the underlying paint.
Your friend might be referring to TFR, as in Traffic Film Remover. This is just a strong pre-wash solution designed to help shift heavy dirt. It certainly wouldn't be strong enough to remove clear coat and the underlying paint! Even tar removers, that are essentially white spirit, would be harmless to the clear coat. I use them all the time.0 -
Did they use a powered rotary polisher? This can overheat the paint if not kept moving.0

Thank you. It’s not cleared the paint it’s just damaged it.
This is a picture...I know nothing about cars, I actually thought they hadn’t raised it probably and was the remainder of the cleaner0 -
Oh it won’t let me acttach a photo!
It’s like an acid mark....0 -
Whats the type of car? might be some information available online about bodywork problems.0
