Thank you for all your kind advice.0

ALL FAKE. Bitcome looses more money for people. If you like a BIG gamble, then try it but chances are you'll loose the lot.I'm a retired IFA who specialised for many years in Inheritance Tax, Wills and Trusts. I cannot offer advice now, but my comments here and on Legal Beagles as Sam101 are just meant to be helpful. Do ask questions from the Members who are here to help.0

Thank you - Senior Sam. After having a very long year, with a bereavement, and before that as a carer. I am now finding time for me - I saw this article - just wondered what was happening out there in the 'real world'.
I would not enter into anything without researching things thoroughly first. I wish now I hadn't asked the question on here. To read - and I quote -
Go for it. I actually think you deserve to lose your money.'
No, most people on here have sufficient mental faculties to spot blindingly obvious scams when they see them....
It was a shock but I should have done my own research without posting here.
What I have learnt is not to post on here unless I give it very serious thought first.
Maybe I have missed somewhere, on this site, that states you have to pass an entrance exam in order to prove you have the basics needed or are 'worthy' to enter a financial discussion.0 -

Or...
"Sorry, thought you were a scammer".
Not too difficult, is it?0 -
Gillyflower. Always OK to ask about anything rather than make a mistake. I have also seen answers on Bitcoin that say how fantastic it is and they have made money, but those replies are usually from people who are desperate to draw more silly people into this so that they can benefit themselves.
Never a silly question and not always easy to research when you are not used to it. Anyway, alls well that ends well and there is a brighter day tomorrow. Good luck

When people are considering getting scammed in a get rich quick scheme, calm reasoned explanation of why it's a scam is usually not enough. If they were thinking rationally they wouldn't be considering it.
Consequently the responses will span the full range of "it's a scam and here's why" to "don't do it you fool" and you can pick whichever you prefer that stops you doing it.
If someone is considering investment in a scam like London Capital & Finance offering 8% per year then they need it explaining to them why it's not what it seems, but if someone is considering investment in a scam which blathers on about Dwayne from Croydon doubling his money in a month then they need shaking.
@SeniorSam: This is not Bitcoin, this is a straightforward advance fee fraud (aka Nigerian Prince scam) using Bitcoin as the pretext. Unlike Bitcoin, in which a small minority of people have been net-winners (albeit most of them have spent their winnings by now and are back where they started), nobody has made money other than the scammers.0 -

All very interesting but as said this is NOT bitcoin. It's a straightforward scam. They could be using any pretext, bitcoins, fine wInes, vineyards, fx trading, futures investing, commodities whatever, there is nothing behind this except someone that takes your money and runs away with it,0 -
Yes , you are purely investing in a scammers next flash car , holiday etc.Ex forum ambassador

Thank you all again. First of all I may be seen as 'seasoned veteran' but any of you who regularly use this site will not find me contributing frequently AT ALL and definitely not into debates on investment. I am not experienced enough in that.
So in a way when I joined in 2007 does not mean I am 'seasoned' in the way, I think you imply, it just means I am 12 years older and wiser but not in the world of investments.
I am 74 and really my savings are only in risk free i.e. ISA's. (Only state pension and NO inheritance issues.)
I do, however, if I have looked e.g. Martin's Tips for ISA's could come onto the forum and look to see if others are considering the same.
Finally, thank you all again for explaining to me about Bitcom. So I am much wiser in that field now which was the reason I asked the question in the first place.0
