Virgin the first to stick their head out and announce.

All the others will be following with price rises.

BT already changed the method circa Sept 2018 . Contracts now include a price increase that you have agreed to every March .

Ahh, I'd forgotten that. Don't know if there's a date for it though.

Thanks, that's worth knowing. Do you know if that is an RPI-related price rise?

I ask because I know mobile providers are now allowed to set annual price rises in their contracts but if they go above RPI they still have to allow you to leave.

I have invested in my own router and stuff now so I happily jump between providers mid-contract when they hike their prices, and get a tasty bit of cashback each time. Be a shame if that jig was now up.

Yes it will be based upon the January RPI applied in March .

We are long standing customers and I do haggle our bill down. But our big complaint is the lack of subtitles on films on demand which means we are paying for part of our package which we cannot use. We really need these in order to follow a film especially with uneccessary background music as I am sure many older people or those with hearing problems do. I have spoken to about it on many occaisions but they are unhelpfull and vague about any improvement.

Use that as a bargaining tool - Netflix have subtitles on their movies. Or just cancel the service and buy Netflix instead.

Does anyone actually have any details of what packages are increasing and by how much? Doesn't seem to have been published anywhere.
