Not sure I could cope with your 26 accounts but 2.2% in todays rates is pretty good for accessible saving. Our accessible money only earns 1.5% over just 3 accounts but we have a lot invested earning more than that.

About £12k of that is in accounts that mature in April 2020, with another £4500 with TSB, so we'll see what they do, following the rumours that they're going to pull the 3% on the Plus Account !!! :( Our average rate will fall off a cliff then!!;)

I'll do a full round up of all the figures at year end, but our spends are looking ridiculously low for the year (mainly due to no foreign holiday this year)

I'm just happy that I haven't had to drag myself to work whilst not well, I can just declare every day a "duvet day". Got a good nights sleep last night, so hopefully on the mend.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

That is the beauty of retirement. No having to drag yourself to work in the cold winter mornings. I am looking after my grandchildren today though so have had to get up reasonably early but at least I don't have to go out.

Glad you got a good nights sleep.

A lot of the banks seem to be reducing the rates on their current accounts. I stopped opening them a few years back when all the restrictions came in re direct debits etc and Tesco did away with the 3% rate. We only use Santander 123 and Marcus now.

I don't often post on your thread, Sea Shell, but I hope you're feeling a bit better, sounds like you've had a really bad dose.

We have 3x5% regular savers (£250 per month to each so really only 2.5%) and just one TSB (£3.74 per month) at the moment.

Also our Co-op current account that we use for running costs pays £4 loyalty every month (for £800 paid in and 4xDD and no paper statements I think) plus £0.05 per debit card transaction up to a limit I forget - we usually get £5.70 a month so it might be that. Every little top up is helpful

Brrr -4C today. Glad I no longer have to go to work.

Shouldn't be up at this hour really. Just putting the heating on ...

I’m hoping not to see the wrong side of 9am on freezing mornings when I’m retired, never mind 5:54am :rotfl:
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

Feel for you, the nights are the worst. At least you are retired. There is a girl in my work with something similar, she looks dreadful. And she won't go off sick:eek:

Nights definitely are worse- I worked Friday nightshift, felt a bit more tired than usual and put it down to the fact it was my first shift of the weekend. Went to bed Saturday morning, awoke 18.30 Saturday evening, couldn't get up! Usual signs of Flu, aches, thirst, sweating etc.

Long story short I've been out of bed a total of 14 hours from 10 am Saturday to now so in bed around 80 hours, feeling much more human and aching getting better.

I had the Flu jab a few days before so probably a bit late- I'd advise anyone to get it but if Flu strikes- drink lots of fluids, take regular Pain relief and rest as much as possible and stay away from others so you don't spread it!

I'll thank my stars I've not been bedbound. I've never had flu...touch wood.

Let's hope we all recover from what ails us soon.
