Hope you are feeling better. There's a lot going around.
I was out drinking in town last night, and had to to Park Run at 8am as had said I would volunteer. So feeling rather delicate.
Perishing cold on the beach so sneaked back to bed with a coffee and my lovely microwave hottie for my ice cold feet. Much better than a hot water bottle as they never really go cold.
Actually that and my Philips Lumie Clock which brightens the room for me getting up at 6am have both been good buys.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
-4°c at my local parkrun this morning, but bright sunshine in a cloud free sky - glorious. Followed by church coffee morning at which my car passenger subbed me in, so total spends so far today is zero! Hope you are back running again soon Seashell.0

Thanks all. I feel a little bit better today, after a bad night (ears), but now have yellow gunk oozing from my eye!!?? Lovely!!
Just chilling watching the rugby on TV....with my good eye!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Glad you are feeling better. It is freezing out there today where we are. We also don't go bonkers at Christmas. Maybe a bit more on food to include a few treats and entertaining and presents are already bought but we only buy for a handful of close family now not extended family. Our daughters also prefer cash now so that is easy.
Not sure I could cope with your 26 accounts but 2.2% in todays rates is pretty good for accessible saving. Our accessible money only earns 1.5% over just 3 accounts but we have a lot invested earning more than that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Sounds chilly in the UK. Currently sitting out in the sun in 25 degree warmth. Not looking forward to the 13 hour flight or English weather after nearly 3 weeks. Not complaining though. And it's quite cheap here (MSE content)0

I hope to have a few weeks winter sun every year when retired. Though wouldn't want to spend too much. Just trying to think where you must be if it involves 13 hour flight?
And yes it is chilly, in fact icy, as well as dark and miserable
Especially at 6:30 am when I am leaving for work:(Money SPENDING Expert0 -
I've actually felt worse today. My eyes went from bad to worse....I've never seen so much gunk, was really gross. I had to get up 3 times in the night to bathe them. Popped to chemist for some drops, so hopefully will sort it. I've started coughing now too. Oh joy!!
Off to bed for early night now...rock and roll!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

Horrible when you feel like that. I had something similar last year and slept in spare room as sneezing all night and had a tickly cough, especially during the night. We used to get a cough medicine called "black magic" and it really does work.
Hope you feel better soon.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
