We regularly play cards, we all love Canasta. Nothing like a nice family fall out to end the evening.
Though would be happy if I never saw another jigsaw puzzle in my life.
We don’t play scrabble as my oh is far too good for me at it, he plays the app Words With Friends every night and has multiple games on the go.
The way things are going we may be doing some of these things by candle light….4 -
We'll all be going round the house looking like "Wee Willlie Winkie" at this rate!!! 😉
Long nightgown ✔️

🤣🤣🤣How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)4 -

Of course!! 😉
But the idea was for things that don't use electricity, other than to see by.
Not necessarily, in a power cut, but generally.
But if your phone's charged and the router's on anyway....How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
It appears we may be entering a period of "wealth shaming", having read some posts here and elsewhere ☹️
Although I can hand on heart say we not extravagant spenders. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

We go out to lunch on 2 or 3 fridays a month at the moment at least until the OH fully retires.
I've really not helped on the Chip shop issue. I think it's about 48 years since the last time I used one !
Looks like any business relying on discretionary spending, is going to struggle. As if they haven't already done so for a few years.0 -
"Personally I'd rather spend £15-20 in Weatherspoon's, Harvester etc and I know it does not pretend to be something it isn't. If I go out for £60/head I like dishes I can't easily do at home/don't do at home eg deep fried whitebait, whole grilled fish on the bone, Chinese with lots of different dishes, sizzling dishes that need hot hot gas burners...and so forth. dont see the point to paying to eat steak out which I can do at home easily."
I dont spend 14-20 at weatherspoons unless stuck in an airport. I do spend that much on a meal for 2 or 3 courses locally or in france, and i research options beforehand.
i dp agree their drink prices are good value comapared with elsewhere1
