Congratulations.....what area of Studland naturist or clothed!!
:rotfl:
Clothed!!!
It's not that warm...and doesn't bare thinking about where all that sand could end up!!!
Walked through the nudist section once in Gran Canaria... enough to put me off my lunch!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
We're back!!!
That was a lovely few days away.
We've been to Poole Harbour, the RSPB reserve at Arne, walked along Studland beach (clothed!), had a couple of pub lunches and Fish & Chips out the paper on a bench overlooking the beach in Swanage.
The weather was lovely, mainly sunny but with a bit of a wind.
The journeys both ways were OK too, not too much traffic, although we did see the '69 plate Mercedes, who went for a VERY late exit from the outside lane of a DC!! It's not going to stay new and shiny for long driving like that. Getting used to his new Sat Nav no doubt!!!!
Oh yes, and the driver who decided to turn right on us, with no signal, at a roundabout from the "ahead only" left hand lane!! We missed him by about a foot or so (DC to DC roundabout). We didn't even have time to BEEEEP at them!
It's a jungle out there folks....stay at home!!!!;);)
Just hopped on the scales, and I've managed to accrue 4lbs in 4 days , so I shall now be nil-by-mouth for a week to compensate!!!;)How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I've just finished reading "On the Origin of Species" and it was a fascinating (if hard going in places) read.
Hard to believe it was published in 1859!!
There were some passages that really stood out for me...but I don't want to get into that here...maybe I'll start a discussion thread?? Bet no-one else would be interested though!
In other news I had an amazing run this morning, doing 6 miles in 58 mins!!! Meep-meep!!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Just had our Water Bill come. We only average about 70m3 per year (for 2 adults).
We were paying £29 pm, but as we're slightly in credit they're dropping this to £27 per month. Yay!!
Off for a run in the sunshine shortly...looks lovely out there. Then we'll start planning our next trip, for possibly next week or the week after.
I did have a little spree in Primark last week. Got 3 Bras, a pack of socks, 3 T-shirts, a vest, 2 pairs of slippers and a nail varnish for the grand sum of.....£28.00.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Our water bill has gradually come down to £22 a month now there are just two of us. The departure of our Son was the main thing that caused the economy. Come to think of it, he has house-sat for us for a month this year so it might go back up!
That is a very good price for all that clothing. Bargain! I never wear nail polish as I have gardeners nails and it makes the tips of my fingers go sweaty - have you tried using a buffing tool to just make your nails shiny? I have done this in the past because I don't like the sensation of the polish - I know you like a saving where you canSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread
My new diary is here0 -
£26 a month is what the two of us pay for water too.0

Standard varnish is just for my toes!! I use UV gel for my fingers. I do have those buffing blocks too and use them between gel manicures, as I like to give my nails a "rest" for a week or so in between. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Delurking out of sheer curiosity
... buffing blocks (I've heard the term, but don't know what they are
), UV gel ... I just do my toenails too (bright blue
) maybe I should start on my hands with buffing blocks, that sounds simpler ...
£24 per month here for a singleton, water rates.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Buffing blocks are foam, 4 sided blocks with various levels of "sanding".
File edges, remove ridges, buff nail and shine nail. They do leave them shiny.
Although be careful not to use them too often, as you can wear down your nail too much.
I got 20 from Amazon cheap!!
I find it's too much of a contortion to UV my toes!! I just slap the varnish on and the excess comes off in the shower the next day! How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Thanks Seashell. I've seen those blocks - my fingernails are quite fragile (as opposed to my toenails, grrr) I don't think I could take that - might just be a touch of vaseline2023: the year I get to buy a car0
