This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."10 -

Just for this little chap...
You're best first to divide up your nuts into those you'll need this year, in 5 years, and 10+ years.
Keep your instant access nuts somewhere easy to reach, in case you get peckish.
Then put some in a fixed term account, or freezer for example.
Then plant the rest.
In 10+ years time you'll have a whole new tree with unlimited nuts to keep you going forever.
THE ENDHow's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)17 -

Wise advice.

Yesterday I had a big bag of nuts that could have lasted a long time. However I ate them all at once.1

Well, having collated our end of July figures, we have 70,000 more nuts than we had this time last year, and that is after just spending the thick end of £3000 on a new boiler (planned change)
Our annual spends to date now stand at £15,546. This equates to just 2.46% of our current overall pot. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)5 -
We have had "some" income so far this year too.... a grand sum of £545, made up as follows:
Bits and pieces of interest - £309
Cashback (inc 123) - £75
Vouchers (surveys and clubcard) - £56
Sold items on FB - £105

Its been an expensive month so far....actually spending some of our nuts!!
Boiler - £3000
Car service (brakes) - £90
Dental hygienist - £70
New bedding - £20
Still to come over the next couple of months, new glasses for us both @ £300+ a pop
Couple of UK holidays in Sept/Oct
We'd better get our maturity funds from Yorkshire Bank in the first week of September (maturity letter awaited with baited breath), otherwise our cash flow is going to come to a grinding halt, and i'm going to have to raid our ISAs. I may have cut this a bit fine!!!
We're going to be down to our last £130 cash by 3rd September!! Everything is going on CC until then, as the next payments dates aren't until at least 17th September!

Expensive glasses. I spend less than a 1/10th (£30) max on mine. They must be special.0
