Well, we've spent the grand sum of £345 (of which £60 was Tesco vouchers!) on a 4 night self-catering break down in the West Country.
Hope to get over to the seaside too, for Fish & Chips and an Ice Cream. Although on checking the tide times, we'll be lucky to actually see the sea at Weston-Super-Mare, as it's at its lowest over lunchtime!
Better get packing, we leave after lunch! Road Trip!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)10 -
..enjoy your holiday, we have just spent similar on 4 nights self catering near Brecon canal which we are hoping to cycle. Seems like self catering is the way to go at the mo?We were contemplating a motor home, but prices have gone really silly and I think all the good sites are going to get filled PDQ!.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."2

If prices are comparable to the East Coast then those fish and chips and ice cream will cost you £30 between you!If you want to be rich, live like you're poor; if you want to be poor, live like you're rich.1 -

we are going to the New Forest for the early May bank holiday - about time the camper van saw some activity. We do have to take our own toilet and toilet tent though which isn't my preferred option. All the campsites that have opted to open their loos are completely booked up.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I stopped work in early March, eventually managed to work through the recruitment process for a part-time job, did 3.5 days work in April, and now the campsites have opened I'm on holiday for 9 days.
I might grow to like this retirement malarkey -even though I'm struggling to adjust to the fact I no longer have an income!4
