My favourite is a steam room, rather than sauna, especially with a bit of menthol added.

Maybe I'll just run the shower hot and sit on the loo....similar effect  B)

Oh to be able to go to the gym/spa/pool again.
I enjoy sauna and steam rooms too - always fancied a sauna at home - but I do wonder a lot about the “shared germs” in those toastie environments in public spas/gyms.....think I might avoid them for a year or two!
FYI, our spa doesn’t smell at all “chemically”.  I think public ones load them up with chlorine because of the higher risk of shared bugs.....
Over the past 2-3 weeks, we keep an eye on the water state once a day....up or down the pH levels a little, usually add one or two “sparkle tabs” (essentially chlorine) 30mins before we hop in, and there is no smell when we get in  B)
& we aren’t “spa people” generally....don’t spend more than 30-45mins in it.....but it has been an absolute star over this lockdown, lovely to hop in mid or late afternoon, a couple of times later at night with the stars above!  Even if we never use it again after this summer, worth every penny!

& yes.....this is going to be one long haul of a year......stay safe, all!
An inflatale hot tub / spa was my wife's last minute Panic Buy before lockdown, not the Aldi one but one from Lay-Z Spa.

Certainly been well used over the last few weeks, and as overall spending is down dramatically we can even afford the increased electric cost.
Some items are "of their time". VHS had a great run.  Walkman's had theirs.   Still have them lying about somewhere.....
As my son & I sat in ours last night, 9:20-10:10pm, with a chilled Hophouse lager each, chatting about the future, watching a dozen of the Starlink satellites shoot slowly overhead, it just felt to me like this was "The Time" for Quarantine Tubatino!
More of the same later, perhaps ;-)
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

LOL: I share your view & implicit concerns - as I mentioned, we are not “hot tub people”.....they are a bubble bath of potential bacteria!
We shower *before* getting in as well as after......check the state of the water with the strips regularly, & once the lockdown is over, I suspect we may empty it and store it away....
....but, with that said, it has been *great* so far, & frankly about the price of one lift pass for the ski holiday we failed to go on: worth every penny!!

Everyday I'm going to try and do at least 3 things...

    One for the BODY
    One for the MIND
    One for the SOUL

So between running, doing some puzzles (codeword) and sunbathing, I think I've got it covered for today.

How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

I think I've done that today too - cycling, learning Spanish and tinkering with my old motorbike.  :)

We have now been early-retired for almost three weeks, and are managing to easily fill our days without getting bored.

    That's a good idea re body/mind/soul activities, Sea_Shell.
Today I have walked four miles and worked on a few yoga exercises, studied Italian and sunbathed, so I am happy!

    Buenos dias.

Excellent idea on the language front.   We did dabble with some Spanish lessons many years ago, and I did do a bit of Duolingo on line for a while, and we have a few phrase books too.     I know (can recognise) quite a few words, but using them properly (the whole grammar thing) is what I struggle with.

Learning a language (Spanish) has long been an ambition of mine. I studied it at school briefly and do enjoy the odd spree of Duolingo or listening to one of the many podcasts around. Coffee break Spanish is a very good one Sea Shell.
I think I've said on here before that I feel like I don't have the mental capacity to learn this whilst I'm working like I am. Perhaps this is a limiting a belief but its currently at the top of my to do list once I retire. Immersion seems to be the key and for that I feel like I need time. There are lots of good online resources, I've also heard about the rise in services using video calls to teach people. One of the lucky side effects of Covid is this could become more common. They can be surprisingly cheep too when you're speaking with someone perhaps based in a cheaper part of the world.
