    Go into settings>battery>battery useage

So you can see exactly is using battery.

So for my Mate 20 pro. Im currently at 42% battery for the screen.
software wise,Facebook is the power hungry one at 19%.

you can also look at battery settings, power schemes etc.

its also has a 50% smaller screen for a start....

Except the OP said the battery runs down when the phone is sitting idle... screen size under idle conditions is irrelevant.

Might help, I had a new phone do this from start up. Couldn't find a fix. Did a full factory reset and it worked fine after that!
I can only assume that 'something' wasn't right when it first started up.

I have just looked at this, battery is at46% was at 47% a minute ago, i have it on power saving mode all the time it says 21h 34 min remaining, there is no way that is right,it will need charging by the time i go to bed, so will have to leave it on charge
On friday night it was fully charged when i went to bed, by the next morning it was completely dead. i thought at first i must have turned it off by accident, so put it on charge,it charged from scratch
If i put it on performance mode it says 4hrs 39 mins remaining
It says hardware 96%software 4%,do you understand this,?thanks
The first person i spoke to in o2 said i should leave it on charge all the time when not using, surely that isn't right.i dont of course

Thank you,i have found a few things that were automatically enabled, but i have disabled what i can and have no need for, there are 2 things that won't disable, so must come with the phone, but to be honest it hasn't made much difference if any, to the battery,
I have come to the conclusion that it is just a rubbish phone and would not recommend

Have you done a factory reset as recommended in Post #25 above??

That would be the first thing to try!

That's what Huawei will do if you send it back!

I had Huawei p20 pro smartphone but I sold it a few days ago because the microphone wasn't working effectively especially during WhatsApp calls. Now, I am using the iPhone and I am happy with it.
