  • I dont know what people think about this but a couple of DFW's ers are doing the London marathon (pania & southwester)and I wondered whether we could juggle the dates so that we can support them and then have a DFW meet at the end? I dont know about you lot but I think it would be really special to support them along the route & get them finished along that 26. something miles! Not sure what pepys think about this but I think it would be an amazing opportunity for us all (possibly quite emotional but in a nice kind of way?) Thoughts pepys?....

 I can do this! Squirrel, thanks for making the exec decision, the date is in the diary.

Thinking of free, warm spaces (it might be chucking it!) the enclosed courtyard of the British Museum is lovely, full of cafes and sitting places... oh, and art and culture too, lol .... If its a good day, then Leicester Square itself is great (mind you, I was in London yesterday as usual, and there were *still* people sitting outside).

Are people still up for this meet in London, originally we said Sat 5 Apr but a couple of others have suggested London marathon day which is 13 April to cheer a couple of DFW members on?

I know it is being indecisive again but any thoughts on this or should we just stick to 5 April as several said they could make it then?
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time

Hi Squirrel, I've only just seen this thread. I'd love to come. I could do either date, but I wonder if it's really practical to meet up with the marathon runners. Won't they be too knackered to fancy socialising after their run?

  • The marathon day is awful in London.

Have been. I know it'd be lovely to support them though.

Also the Southend to London lines often have works on a Sunday. Thats just selfish on my part lol! ;)

So the 5th is great for me.

I'd love to meet some of you! :D
