Money Moral Dilemma: Should I share energy switch cash with my flatmates?

If you did all the work, why is the reward to be shared?
To be clear, I actually do share the rewards I get on reducing bills with the people I live with. But honestly, if someone else did all the work, I would never feel like I should be rewarded.
One caveat may be if your reward pushed up their bills, picking a more expensive supplier. To do that would be bad. You would be taking from them in order to enrich yourself. But since you're on this website, I'm going to say that you got this reward AND LOWERED their bills as well.
So you have done all the work. You have saved them money on their bills, and suddenly it seems that people feel that after you have done your friends a favour you should not be rewarded with a greater share, despite you doing ALL the work!?
People are kooky. You earned it. You did all the work. It is good that you lowered the bill. I can't see why anybody would object to you receiving the bulk of the reward, based in the fact you did all the work.
Have I misunderstood?0 -
This is only acceptable if your flat mate can also take advantage of the referral to get their own £75 discount.
It's either your choice to manage the bills or your being compensated for it, I don't think it's morally correct to penalise your flatmate.0 -
If you deal with all of the flat's joint finances, then it's ok to keep the money yourself. If it wasn't for your efforts, the money wouldn't have been credited.
However, if there's an agreement that you deal with the gas and electricity bills, while flatmates deal with other things, then I think you should probably share it.0 -
The credit's on your bill so you'd actually have to ask your flat mates for the cash or pay more off the bill if you didn't want to share the credit with them - good luck with that!
For those who are dissing Bulb and calling them scammers, you are talking complete nonsense. They come out pretty near the top of any price comparison search I've ever done. We were with them for a year, switched to a cheaper supplier (Pure Planet), and then switched back to Bulb after 3 months. They have excellent customer service, 100% renewable electricity, and a bill you can actually understand. That's worth paying an extra £50/year in my book.0 -
If the £75 credit goes on the bill can't see how you could keep it anyway tbh. If it was cashback I'd say keep it as youve done the work!0

Discuss it with them to see what they would be happy with0

Amazed that anyone would need to ask! The credit can be added to the billing account as a credit and you'll all benefit.0

Nope, perk of the job0
