As for it being a Scam, the word does in my opinion sow the seeds of ignore into people, however the PPC industry is built on half truths, slights of hand, pressure tactics and more. You could of about these flaws (anpr/double dips) early payment discount periods and so on.

I have just seen this and, while I agree with every word, I also agree with HW.

I think that you are attributing a level of sophistication to Joe Public which, in the main, he does not possess.

I have dealt with the great unwashed in a consular capacity for several decades. The level of gullibility and stupidity amongst some would astound you.

They know what a scam is, but a deliberate but legal fabrication of half truths and deceits they may not.

Just as the media use the term "fine", so will I continue to use he word "scam".

Is Brighthouse a scam? Of course it is.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

The crucial point is that a scam is defined as an illegal activity. However much we deplore the PPCs, courts frequently find in their favour and if any OP was to rely on a PCN being illegal and to be ignored, then they are in danger of getting a default judgement and CCJ.

Scam is a word frequenty associated with online frauds such as the phantom lottery win, viruses detected on your PC by Microsoft etc and people are advised to ignore them.

So come on, Deep. You have often posted about you career and jobs held. Surely you could find an alternative word that might nit lead to people believing that PPC charges should be ignored ?

    By whom?

What about virus scams from India? What about so called free burglar alarms with huge monthly charges? What about 4,000% interest loans? What about fake call backs to premium rate telephone numbers?. What about many ebay offers from China, Fake Nikes in Spanish street markets? What about priority boarding for the first hundred passengers? What about inertia selling? What about inertia selling, I have twice been caught by Amazon Prime?

They are all scams but most are not illegal, (or unlawful).

Thank you. They did send 3 prints of the vehicle covering a period of under a minutes, is that what you mean?
That's only part if it. A SAR will unearth everything they have, not just what they want to drop-feed you.

OP, if you have based your forum username on you real name you are best advised to get it changed to something much more anonymous.

To help with that, you might like to read this short extract from The MSE Forum Guide - Frequently Asked Questions & Rules:
    Q. How can I change my username?

    A.
In most circumstances, this is not permitted.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.
