My home in the same city has gone up in value from the £100k I paid for it 6 years ago to the same two bed terraces on the same street now being marketed at £150k, & they have SSTC signs outside them within a couple of weeks.
I'll be interested to see what the sold price shows up at in a few months.0 -
The previous sale could have been one where the sellers were desperate to move a distance for family or work reasons, or were in such a bad position to sell due to something like bad debts or heading for repo. that they had to sell fast, so the buyers got a bargain. Could have been a sale to family members. Could have been anything.
As others have said, it's really about whether the price you can get it for means it is worth the money to you today. Getting a proper RICS valuation might help, as might a chat with the surveyor who did it.0 -

Definitely looks like something is going on there, doesn't it?0 -
 I wouldn't pay the 2016 price for it, its very close to the Foxhill Estate.
A quick google of the street would put most people off!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

What you describe is a form of mental illness, what I describe is not going neck deep in property debt on the cusp of a WTO Brexit and the strong possibility of a JC government. These events are happening now, not in ten years time, and the effect on property prices will be instant IMO.0 -
I've been informed by a colleague that the area the house is in, is a bit of a !!!! hole.
But I really like the house and potentially if they're open to offers in budget.
Any suggestions how to progress?0
