Parking Charge Notice I had a ticket

I received a PCN yesterday, they say my contravention was I failed to make a valid payment. But we did, I had to put my car registration in and paid the correct fee. This is now 2 weeks later and now I don't have the parking payment ticket anymore. I did appeal and said I had bought a ticket, but not sure if that's enough, shall I email through your standard letter you have in the NEWBIES section?
Also...I just posted in a forum about the car park in question and some say this parking lot has had a lot of complaints for giving out tickets.

Which parking firm?I did appeal and said I had bought a ticket,
Did you admit to driving? Why did you do that?
Is there a retailer/landowner to complain to, as that's the easy route to cancellation?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It said i could appeal, so I did because thought that was our only option, but also because I did pay the ticket. And surely if I had to add my number plate then they should have a record? I started searching today and found this group.
the car park. is a privately-owned pay & display, operated by Britannia Car Parks. can i do anything else or not?0 -
You haven't answered any of my questions.
What on earth makes you think they knew who was driving? They didn't and in an appeal to a PPC you should NEVER blab about driving.
Anyway complain to the Aquarium. Is it Britannia, at this place?

That poster complained to the place they visited and got this positive response (post #20):I’ve heard back from the place we visited. They said it’s not the first time they’ve had customers inform them of the machines not working and receiving a ticket. The CEO is going to personally write to the parking firm and let them know.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok I have learnt not to say. Its the harbour that owns the car park and Brittania who run it, its the closest to the aquarium. So I could complain to both?0

IMO, PE signs leave much to be desired. I doubt that many judges would agree that they are capable of forming a contract, read this
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5972164/parking-eye-signs-oxford-road-reading
and enlist the support of your MP as they are obviously trying to scam you.
Nine out of ten of these so called breaches of contract are scams
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.
Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Is there something specific to write to the MP? The fine is in a different area to where I live.
Is it also worth emailing the owners of the car park?0 -
Yes, them and the Aquarium and your local MP.Is it also worth emailing the owners of the car park?
No template, just tell them all how horrified you are to be pursued so aggressively by a notorious company who invent added costs and sue people for hundreds of pounds. Ask the MP to help by writing to the landowner for you to add weight to the complaint, as this is an unfair charge.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So there is no point emailing them the email you have in the newbies section at all, as I have admitted that we drove there? So my only options is to email the land owners aquarium and the local MP... should that be my local MP or the one from the area that I got the ticket from, which is an hour away.0

Obviously not. I wrote a template appeal to stop people blabbing about who was driving because soooo many posters can't write appeals without talking pointlessly about who parked and what they did.So there is no point emailing them the email you have in the newbies section at all, as I have admitted that we drove there?
Where people already have let that cat out of the bag, then they've done the appeal and can't have another crack at it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The aquarium came back with this reply: Unfortunately, as the car park is a separate business to our charity and is operated by Britannia Parking Limited, we do not have any influence on how their fines and charges are administered and therefore would not be able to contact them on your behalf. We have been made aware that there can be problems when parking in the car park following several stories reported in the local newspaper, we hope that you are able to convince them to waive the fine.

The MP has seen the message but not replied yet.0
