If we are feeling like we want to have a takeaway or freinds are round for a drink we have tesco value pizza we add some value herbs to it and a bit of cooked value bacon, and serve with value garlic bread, it's really nice and a big pizza only 99p for the actual pizza.

recently some freinds weren't too impressed with my purchase (they came to tesco with me) so they bought pizza from the finest range something with spinach i think for around £4!! a lot smaller pizza too. Anyway, they didn't like it and ended up eating all mine saying how nice it was!! just goes to show value can sometimes be best.

I also make a value baked bean lasagne (slimming world recipe)

All from value range,2 tins baked beans, 2 tins tinned toms, 1 pepper, few mushrooms,1 large onion, cheese to cover top, lasagne sheets herbs.

I saute (sp) all veg, then add tins and simmer for a bit, then just layer like a normal lasagne, sprinkle with cheese cover with foil and bake on 200 for about 20 mins, I uncover at end until cheese bubbles.

It makes 4 huge portions and is healthy and very filling I had it for my lunch. I freeze it into portions and tastes just the same reheated. the good thing is that there is no cheese sauce making it healthier and a bit cheaper.

value pot's , value corgettes , value peppers , value onions , value aubergine, value sweet potato chop up into cubes, mix with value oli ( ideally olive oil or similar , sure i seen a value olive oil ) with a sprinkle of value mixed herb's. and roast in a roasting tin

serve witha home made value pizza. AMde a base with value flour etc , tom base from eiuther blitzed tinned toms or value tomato ketchup , chop finely value onions , then add any topping i usally do value mushroom , value pineapple and ham. then hand grated value cheese . cook as you would a pizza.

hope all that make sence. sorry no idea how much it would cost.although i think once u bought the ingrediants you would get more than 1 meal from them . ie value mushroom , huge tub , value mixed herbs , big pot again.

Just incase anyone is interested - the meal was partaken of on Saturday evening. The whole meal was from Sainsburys Basic range.

Menu (inlcudes ratings out of 10)

    Chicken soup (5/10)
    Garlic Bread (8/10)

    White Fish fillets (7/10)
New potatoes - largeish (par-boiled and baked in oven) 9/10
Carrots and brocolli (sp) - steamed (9/10)

    Apple Pie (8/10)
Syrup sponge pudding (8/10) only 50p!
    Custard (8/10)

The basics wine was foul and ended up down the drain (cost 2.15 - it was just too sweet)

The basics lager was very weak (I dont drink) but my ds finished these off - they are only 2% proof)

It was great fun but my man was a little embarrassed going through the check out. As if the till operators care!!! Anyway bought some other stuff too, loo rolls etc, but if you had looked at the trolley, it would appear that the cat was the one who ate most expensively in our house!!!!

me too - met Liam on the internet and married this september the day before our two year anniversary of meeting in real life - bought our wedding rings using tesco clubcard point vouchers from goldsmiths and had pie and mash for our wedding breakfast and made my own bouquet with 104 white roses (one for each week we had been together)

You can definately get value lager, it was in the papers this week because do-gooders were complaining it was only 22p a can and encourages binge drinking.

They clearly haven't looked at how much alcohol is in the value lager, as larmy16 says. The thought of how much of it a young lager lout/loutess would have to drink to make them behave the way we see on TV, it must be enough to fill a bath! I don't really think it's possible.
  • what a shame you put the wine down the drain,it prob would have been fine for cooking with. In future,if you find a wine is too sweet, you can make it more drinkable if you dilute it a little with soda water if you have any,and if you feel a wine is too sour, try adding a little lemonade to sweeten slightly.

Well done anyway it sounds like you had fun:D What was the total cost of your meal?
