28 Days after appeal

Options
I have read the sticky info but I cant see an answer to this one.Can anyone advise?
Got a NTK from UKCPS on 24/04/19. I felt from other posts here it was reasonable to appeal (I wont go in to that now). I submitted an online appeal form on their website with supporting evidence on 16/05/19. I received an acknowledgement email stating they would respond within 28 days. By my reckoning that should be by 14th June latest and nothing has been received about it. However, I have now received a final reminder letter dated 18/06/19 with no mention of the appeal for which they acknowledged receipt.
So, has the time taken now made this demand invalid (notwithstanding I still think the appeal is valid in its own right anyway)?
Anyone help?

Nothing will make 'this demand invalid'.

Do you realise this is an entirely unregulated industry?

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Nothing matters about the fake appeal process. UKCPS cases don't all go to court but when they do, they are winnable by posters here.

  • Thank you Coupon-mad. I may let it go to court then. My current concern is that as they have not 'officially' rejected my appeal then I can't take it to the IAS in the first instance. Is that correct?

Why are you concerned, given almost NO-ONE has a case worth throwing at the IAS? The 3rd post of the NEWBIES thread tells everyone to avoid IAS.

So there really is no accountability at all then. Now I get why this is viewed as a racket.

Ok, in your (or anyone's view) is it worth toughing it out and tell them I'm happy to contest in court? The basis of my challenge is that although the vehicle was outside the marked bay the actual markings are ambiguous as a previous marking cut halfway through the bay and is 'hatched'. Therefore the driver could not comply with the 'rule' as if the vehicle had been fully in the bay it would have been on the hatched area and parking on such is also prohibited. This is also an end bay so the overhang did not infringe on an adjacent bay if that makes any difference - EG I'm not reducing the capacity of the car park which is what the marked bays are intended to do in the implied contract. I think.

How can I insert a picture on a forum post for further comment?

NEWBIES - HOW TO UPLOAD LINKS TO PHOTOS/SCANS TO MSE

To upload a photo/scan link, you first need to host it on a free photo hosting site (like Dropbox or Imgur), copy the URL, paste it here, but change the http to hxxp and we'll do the conversion. Newbies can't directly upload links to photos/scans until they've a few posts under their belt.

Please do not use TinyPic or PhotoBucket as they drop all sorts of gratuitous and unsolicited dross on computer screens when their links are opened.

  • Ok thank you.
So as a newbie I can't add the photos so anyone have a view on the situation I described?
    Many thanks.
