Hi
Just looking at these storage heating for possible downstairs heating. Three needed for lounge, kitchen and hall.
As far as output goes, the largest (1200W for up to 12m2) falls a little short as the lounge is 14m2. Insulation is good though.
It’s also huge and would look quite dominating.
The hall really needs a 2kW heater as it has a stairwell.

Just wondering if the lower output of these compared to electric radiators is a factor as they can be left on for longer without much power consumption.
Wouldn’t want to get underpowered heaters.
Any help appreciated.

1 kW of heat is 1 kW of heat whether produced by electric ... or LPG, Heating Oil, Solid & Other Fuels ;)

Search Elnur on these forums - I understand very expensive to instal and run - storage rads better option (unless you have gas)

Ain't you fixed that hot air unit yet Danrv?

There can't be much wrong with it.

Nope, unfortunately not. It’s just sitting there looking dated :(
I do know a repair guy that does white goods and the like. Worth a try.

Installation would need a bit of thought. Old storage heaters I think used to be hardwired into a high amp circuit on a timer like my Unidare.
Modern ones like Elnur may have a timer built in so the charge period and frequency can be set manually.
I’m not sure if three of these would draw any more power during charging than the 10kW warm air unit I have.

Spend £100 with an electrician and get your Unidare working.

Yes. On paper the Elnurs are underpowered for what I need as the specs state very small room sizes (6m2, 9m2).
My lounge is quite small at 14m2, not open plan and any heat produced is kept in. An undersized heater, say 900w output I hope would be sufficient. Would just take longer to reach required temperature.
