planning a week long trip to france in July. Prices are ~ £200 return for standard ticket but cheaper if i book 2 x 2day returns and just don't use the return bits, i.e folkstone to calais 2 day return for the outbound leg and calis to folksone 2 day return on the inbound. I can't see anything that says i can't do that but…

Its a tricky balance to strike - in my experience, the cancellation/no show is usually down to a personal choice and is nothing to do with an unforseen calamity. If the organisation didn't have T&C's covering cancellations, they would find that most/all savvy travellers would abuse the system to their advantage
