EuroTunnel Le Shuttle

planning a week long trip to france in July. Prices are ~ £200 return for standard ticket but cheaper if i book 2 x 2day returns and just don't use the return bits, i.e folkstone to calais 2 day return for the outbound leg and calis to folksone 2 day return on the inbound. I can't see anything that says i can't do that but see plenty that says if i miss either leg i loose out.
Has anyone done this recently and is there any problems with doing this?

If you read the conditions it makes it clear, as do the ferry companies, that if you don't play by the rules and attempt to save money this way they will simply charge your card for the correct amount, or worse cancel your return.0

I could mention the two different spellings of Folkestone, both wrong.
And the varying use of capital letters, 'i' for 'I' etc.
OK, I may be a pedant, even if I normally live with it, but I grew up in Folkestone and some things matter.
Alan Bowen has the right answer.0 -
"Lose" and "loose" is the most annoying one for me, along with "too" and "to". Winds me up something rotten and I always have to point it out.0

Thanks for the replies and spelling tips. We are not all blessed with perfect spelling and grammar abilities. I guess in the 21st century it’s still something to hold people back, deny access to information and shun people from debate. I’m sure the upcoming Labour government will beat some sense, spelling and grammar into people like me. Not long now.
There where some people on trip advisor discussing successfully doing what I proposed but there was no indication of how long ago that was, trip advisor just states the posts are over a year old.
Hypothetically there must be some people legitimately falling into this issue by Legitimately booking a 2 day trip and miss the return and get a ferry back on a return ticket then a week later return to France by ferry and book a shuttle back.0 -
Correct spelling, correct punctuation and correct sentence structure aren't a political issue, but they do help people understand what you have written - especially when you are asking their opinions.0

To the OP - my understanding is, like Airlines, Eurotunnel will cancel the return leg of a ticket if you are no-show for the outbound leg. So whilst you could travel to France and simply bin the return leg of that ticket, when you turn up at Coquelles hoping to use the return leg of your second ticket you will find the ticket won't be valid (because you won't have used the outbound portion).0

@Cardinal
The idea would be on the return to buy a new Calais to Folkestone return and not use that return part not a Folkestone to Calais return and not use the 1st leg.0
