@Murphy
The thing is you and everyone else who read my spelling mistake ridden post perfectly understood what I meant. Correct spelling didn’t hinder comprehension there yet there are more posts on spelling than there is on the subject of my post. I’m sure there’s a word or phrase that describes this behaviour although it’s probably my fault for not proof reading before posting, for which I apologise if I’ve caused you and others offence.
I’m sure there’s a label for people who habitually spell things wrong, doesn’t matter though we should just take every and any opportunity to point out their failings rather than assisting in their quest. Like being at school and laughing at the kid who gets a question wrong or because they are somehow different to the other kids. Point and poke at them enough and they’ll go away and not come back which will, I’m sure, make some people very happy.0 -

My spelling is fair, but my typing is poor.
If I go onto an internet forum, asking people to freely give up their time so that they can help me, the very least that I can do is construct my posts/questions in such a way that the reader doesn't need a B grade pass in GCSE Yoda speak to understand what I'm asking about.
You haven't offended me in the slightest (I'm way past being offended on internet forums).
You think that correct spelling (and poor grammer/punctuation) doesn't hinder comprehension - good luck with that theory. I regularly curse that attitude when I'm trying to follow DIY instructions that look like they were typed by a drunken chimpanzee wearing a blindfold and passed for publication by someone else who shares the same lackadaisical approach:beer:.
Enjoy your trip the France. Hopefully you'll find a fare combination that works well for you.0 -
if you struggle to understand what i meant by folkstone, calais, calis, folksone & loose in the context of my post & "EuroTunnel Le Shuttle" in the title didn't provide sufficient hint regarding the town names then.................0

It's a good job that you aren't flying. The ability to accurately spell your name when you're checking in is always handy. Alternatively you may find someone who is happy with your it's close enough, you know what I meant approach.
Enjoy your trip to France.0 -
wow
what shocking replies from many on hear (snigger)
I managed to read the whole post and grasp first time what the OP was asking. The human brain is so amazing it can even figure out words just from the outline shape.
Get over yourselves with your unhelpful responses.
I am sorry, OP, I can't actually help with your enquiry. Like you, I have heard that the operators have ways of making it not work for you, but don't no about the reality (I'm just doing it for fun now)0 -
Thanks Phil
Some people absolutely need to have the final word and don’t see how their words can be seen to be offensive, bullying or just insensitive. Not sure how to let them know without being as condescending as they are though. I might find a way one day but before I do I’ll just crack on the way I am and hope for the best. Most people are forgiving and accept some leeway tolerance.0 -
Going back to the original question, the ferry company may well flag up your registration number when you fail to return after two days. When you try to buy your return ticket they will be ready to sting you with the full fare as per their t&cs.
I suppose you could have more luck buying a single ticket to return with another company but would you actually save any money than buying a proper return?0 -
@Martin
Does look that way.
It’s annoying that they advertise cheaper rates for those staying less than 5 days and then have draconian rules preventing people from exploiting the cheaper rates for longer stays. Doesn’t seem fair or right to me. People must have complained in the past as it looks like exploiting travelers staying away for a week or more with no real justification other than they can get one over us.0 -

All transport operates on the same basis with day return or off peak prices cheaper than peak time or fully flexible fares.0 -

As another poster said .... Airlines will charge premiums for people who throw away Return legs.
(IIRC) Which Magazine has campaigned to have this outlawed - because it is pure profit-making - esp. when the reason for the "no show" is some sort of unforeseen calamity.
One Airline has dropped this policy voluntarily (FlyBe perhaps) .... but others haven't.
So it seems a bit risky to try with Eurotunnel.
p.s. Pedantry to aid clarity is one thing ... but this thread has far too many irrelevant posts ..... which is discourteous to those searching for "Eurotunnel" !!:A0
