The back window mechanism has gone and is currently taped up to stop it falling inside the door, there’s a hole in my exhaust, needs 3 new tyres, brake pads, drinks oil and now the catalic converter is going, suspension is gone as well. I use a local garage that I have been to for years and trust them.

Back window: Carefully remove the door card from the inside. Inspect the mechanism and either fix, or make secure (non functioning window is not and mot failure)
Exhaust: A roll of repair tape from Halfords may be enough to limp it through an MOT
Tyres: Get on something like blackcircles.com and get the cheapest you can. Check the spare, if it's not a space saver, use that and buy two new ones. A missing spare is not an MOT failure.
Brake pads: change them yourself. A couple of hours with a Haynes manual should be all it needs. Borrow the tools if needed.
Drinking oil: Not an MOT fail, cope with it for now.
Failing Cat: this will be pricey, but might be able to get one second hand.

All in all most tjjngs can be done by a DIYer with some time. Though I appreciate as a single mum, time is something you'll have little of!

If you c an get it through an MOT and save for a replacement, this may be the most stable option. Taking on a lease with a sub prime lender may cause issues in the future should you run into financial difficulties (they could take the car and still lumber you with debt).
