Definitely make a plan and get some christmas savings going. She is only 3 so she really doesn't need a massive expensive Christmas. Get bargains like this puzzle, use vouchers and enjoy a relaxing christmas that helps reduce your debts, rather than a christmas that increases them.

I'd definitely put it aside for Christmas. I do the same for my 2 boys. In fact last Christmas, DS2 was only 4 months old so I just brought out a few of DS1's old toys and put those in his stocking:rotfl:

Another vote for Christmas here. I keep saying the same to my sis, my niece is 3 and she will not remember what presents she got for her 3rd Christmas. LMG remembers all the fun we had and the time spent together over the years. DancingInTheRain has totally the right idea :D

  • Day 14 - yesterday! I have put the puzzle aside and will be keeping my eyes peeled for any other bargains for dd for Christmas! I’d rather spend the money I would have spent on gifts on going to a pantomime or to see Santa! There is a ton of Christmassy things that dd would love in the run up to the big day. Decorating the tree, playing in the snow (if weather permits) baking Xmas cookies and crafting Xmas decorations all of which I can do on the cheap!

    Now it’s confession time:o
It was a very spendy day yesterday. I went clothes shopping eek! In my defence I did try and stick to the cheaper shops and avoid the more expensive ones! So £42.96 spent in H&M on 2 tops, a skirt and a dress. I haven’t added in the two things I’ll be taking back! Then £14.70 in primark on a few cosmetic bits, a pair of flip flops a dress and a top. £10.99 on groceries, £4.50 on a sandwich whilst I was out, parking was another £4.60. And a dress from top shop that was £28.00 and lastly a Sun hat (half price) and pjs (25% off) for my dd from boots which were £14.75. Also bought some make up for £6.20!

I’m really happy with my new summer clothes so I’m not going to feel too guilty about it. None of it went on the credit card so i’m not adding to the my debt in any way!

I got paid my overtime of £500 so I’ve transferred that straight to my savings account. I was umming and arrrring whether to put it to the cc or to put it in savings. I’ve put it in savings for now but might change my mind later!

I’ve transferred £10 to the credit card too as my PAD.
  • Day 15 - the plan for today is to go get a few groceries (I’ve written my meal plan)
Lunch today is jacket potatoes with beans and cheese (just need some
More potatoes as have everything else) then dinner will be lasagne and salad (I’ve got everything I need for the lasagne just a few salad bits needed) tomorrow lunch can be left over lasagne or sandwiches and then we are out for tea in the evening at a friends. I’ll be making a dessert to take with us so I’ll need the ingredients for that! Saturday I’ll be travelling over to visit a friend so won’t need anything for weekend meals except Sunday evening (can have pies from the freezer and I’ve got carrots and peas to go with it) so my shopping list -

    Baked potatoes
    Cucumber
    Lettuce
    Cherry toms
    Milk
    Yogurts
    Desert ingredients

That’s not bad for 4 days shopping - then on Monday I’ll see what we have left, what to get. It never seems to work planning for the whole week!

I’ve also got an appointment at the salon, I have been thinking about reducing these trips.....just need to think about it a bit more!

I’ll probably go to the park or to feed the ducks while we are in town as dd loves that!

This evening I’m doing another over time shift so that’s a little more extra money coming in too! Oh yes and my eBay items have sold so I posted those yesterday. My paypal balance is now at £45.59 although that doesn’t take into account fees or postage but I’m still pretty happy as ordinarily I would have just taken them down to the charity shop so at least I made a little money.

I hope everyone has a lovely day in the sunshine!
  • Day 16 and day 17 - I’ve lost track of spends a bit the last couple of days. Definitely spent a little more on grocery shopping than planned! Might be able to hunt out the receipts???!!! I had to get petrol so that was £40! £27.00 spent in the salon. I think that’s it! I don’t plan on much spending this weekend and I did do some overtime Thursday!

I’m beginning to wish pay day would roll around a little quicker! I’m hoping for a more frugal week ahead!
  • Day 18 - A really lovely day today at a family BBQ so it’s a no spend day. This is something I’ve picked up on a lot of these diaries. It’s not something I have really thought about but I think I’m going to aim for a few more of these no spend days!

I’ve sent £10.00 to the credit card today as my PAD. I’ve also sold another item on eBay, not for very much but it’s all adding to my eBay/PayPal fund. Anyone have any idea how you actually get the money in your account? :D

Only 11 days until payday! :j

Do you mean how do you get it from your PayPal account to your bank account? If so, you add your debit card to your PayPal account and then you can transfer funds in and out. If you mean anything else then I have no clue (I don't have an eBay account).

Yes you can link your debit card or bank account details on your PayPal account. They usually do a test payment of 1p with a 4 digit code as a reference. You then use that code to verify your card or account then you’re good to go.
With eBay you can pay your invoice monthly using your PayPal funds or you can pay fees as you go (I do this). To do this you go into ‘account settings’ then ‘account summary’ then in the Payment method for sellers fees choose ‘one-off payment’.
Hope this makes sense, it’s quite straightforward once you’ve done it a couple of times :) x
