  • Day 2 and we have a lazy day planned! I’m doing the late shift this evening as overtime. I’m pleased I’ve signed up for that because it’s all extra to throw at the debt. The sooner it’s paid off the sooner my money can go on nicer things! :j

I’ll need to get some petrol on the way to work this evening but other than that we’ll be eating from what I’ve got in and entertaining ourselves with ‘crafting’ :rotfl:

I’ve contacted my creditors, debts stand as follows -

    Outstanding electricity bill £213.80
Finance for sofa £167.97 (3 payments of £55.99)
    Halifax credit card £3377.74

I also have nothing as an emergency fund, savings for anything like holidays or Christmas. Oh except for a sealed jar with £150 quid in it. I’d like to start saving up for holidays and events rather than putting them on credit cards.

This morning I’ve paid the electricity bill off in full. So that is one debt completely gone:j
  • 2 days in and one debt already gone  well done :)
  • SSDD - Yeah, but I’ve probably got over excited and will struggle at the end of the month! :o

    Feels good though!

I’ve had a lovely day, crafting and playing with dd. It’s been very chilled, I’ve done a bit of tidying, put a wash on and done a meal plan for the next few days. We also made millionaires shortbread together, dd loves cooking! First time making it and I’m pretty happy! Now it’s just time to get myself ready for work this evening :cry::cry:
  • Glad you've managed to enjoy your day with your DD :D

The overtime will come in handy, I've not long taken on a second job which has sort of stolen my weekends off but it'll be worth it when I get the extra pay this month :o you can do it :D
  • Good luck on your journey & congrats on paying the first debt off :T
  • Thank you so much for your support everyone, definitely feel like this diary and your comments are going to keep me motivated! I’ve just finished my shift so ready for bed. Pleased with the extra money I will have made though!

So day 2 has only seen a spend of £30.00 on petrol. I will be trying to limit my travelling as much as possible but this was needed as I was running on fumes!

My niece is 3. She loves to bake. My mum makes really simple stuff with her and they have great fun with ingredients that are usually in the house anyway. Another thing she loves is the library. There is one across the road from where I live and when she stays with me she always wants to go there. She isn't really interested in the books, she just likes to play with the toys. The first time we went I was really struggling to get her to leave. When I finally managed she said "Bye bye toy shop." So cute. Anyway, if you have a library nearby it's free fun for your wee one.

  • I think I might give the library another go girlatplay. A while ago I took dd to an event at my local library, it was supposed to be a storytelling with puppets etc. but having got dd all ready, driven there, it turned out not to be on which was a bit annoying. I haven’t really been back since but I’m all signed up and dd did enjoy reading with me. Thanks for the reminder :j

I can see how that would be annoying, not to mention a wast of time and petrol. I just take Peachy at random times and we get down on the floor and build with the Lego (tall towers are the extent of my creativity but that suits her too). It's just to kill time until my sis arrives to pick her up. I just like it because it's free and she enjoys it.

  • Day 3

Took a trip to the beauty salon ooops! £22.50 later but I feel fabulous :T

I also bought some groceries £17.00 Tesco and £7.60 at Aldi. It’s a lot but it includes stuff for a nice meal tonight instead of going out. So really I think I’ve saved money because if I’d have gone out to dinner with my friend it would have cost a lot more!! Hopefully I’ll be able to make the rest last for a while too.

Dd and I had a good day today, went for a play date at a friends and went to the supermarket. Not wildly excited but we had fun and didn’t spend anything on entertainment!

    Bring on day 4!!
