Thanks again
Just saw your post and you certainly can claim back PPI going back to the 1980s. My OH has been awarded just shy of £20k from Clydesdale Bank from a credit card and a loan, the CC was taken out around 1987.
Good luck!0 -

I've no account details, or anything else.

Associates would be Canada Square Operations;

They might have records from 1986. They might not.0 -
I have submitted a claim ...

What were your reasons for "complaint"?0 -

I have to say that "complaints" like this are the really frustrating ones. I wish people would just enquire first, as they can then be told if PPI was present or not. If it was and if there is reason for a complaint then make it.
By "complaining" about something that may not have existed, means this takes more time for a firm to deal with. It has to be recorded and reported to the FCA as a complaint even if there was no PPI present. All this takes additional time for both you and the firm.
"Complaints" where there has never been PPI say a lot about a person. Unfortunately, its something I see on a regular basis.I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0 -

I didn't submit a "complaint", I submitted a"Claim".
FYI, they, Citi Bank, have a standard online claim form which i have completed.Switzerland has Dignitasthe UK has DCA's, Bankers and Lawyers.0 -

I don't think i have even used the word "complain" or "complaint".
As i have said in an earlier reply, i have completed an online form which asks Citi Bank to check if they have any record of transactions in my name and if they have then make a claim.
N.B.
CLAIM
This is the standard procedure that this particular bank have setup for the companies which they, presumably, "control" (not sure the right word here).
Surely if i have taken any action, other than the one they have specifically created for the purpose, then it would have takem then longer and been more effort for the bank. Or do you feel i'm wrong with my logic?
p.s.
I could say, if they hadn't conned their customers in the first place, by selling them empty boxes, they wouldn't have people like me taking up their valuable time now.
Or even ...
They had plenty of time to think up ways to con their customers into buying empty boxes and, since they must be so amazing at their jobs to be paid such huge bonuses, then they, presumably, must have included the current searching and refunding excercise into their original calculations.
Or am i missing something?Switzerland has Dignitasthe UK has DCA's, Bankers and Lawyers.0 -

They call it a complaint form not a claim form:-

I will always do my best to keep factual. I have seen....and continue to see many Complaints / Claims that a person was sold PPI using a wide variety of accusations.Upon checking, no PPI is present.
I appreciate that stereotypes exist for anyone that ever sold a financial product, but I also know of firms that NEVER sold PPI who still receive claims and complaints with the usual reasons why people were mis-sold something they never actually bought.
If anyone genuinely feels that they were mis-sold and paid for any product that was not suitable for them, then of course they should make a complaint. My criticism is only of the mob mentality.I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0 -

Yes, but if i submit a "claim" yet they have chosen to refer to such requests as "complaints" that's not my problem.

I did exactly what the poster said i should do, using the mechanism provided by the bank. Yet they preferred to treat me as a "complaint".
Doesn't that say something about the banks?
Certainly not ME!Switzerland has Dignitasthe UK has DCA's, Bankers and Lawyers.0
