    Hi everyone

I think I need to stay at home today and clean/tidy every room in the house. Looks like a bomb has gone off! Also loads of washing to do but it looks like a nice day so can hopefully dry outside. Might venture out a walk to the gardens with baby too.

    Here's me:
Supermarket own brand cereal - not that it's an issue for me but supermarket brand crunchy nuts are generally gluten free even though kellogs aren't - that's my fact for the day.
    HM bread :D
Slow cooked sweet potatoes - just bung 'em with on their own, don't need to prep/wrap and they come out delish!
Need to get turkey out for tonight's tea and hope it defrosts...
    Free kindle book
Jumped in OH's bath after him

    Just the usual really!!

Didn't know that most supermarket brand crunchy nut was gluten free, I'll be passing that onto my GF friends :T Thank you!

I have applied to switch my energy provider. It is supposed to save me a whole £15 a year but there is the £25 cash back from MSE on top of that, eventually.

I batch cooked a couple of days ago, does that count? OH lurves my chicken in red wine (cheat's coq au vin)

It is lovely weather here today so I have been sitting in the garden instead of spending hours in front of either the computer or the telly. That must have saved a few pennies.

    Good afternoon all,
I'm a happy mummy again as ds2 is home and although shattered, he looks far better in himself then he did on the school 2 night trip last year.

    Todays list
    * ds1 had ys bread with his eggs for breakfast
    * went to the gym, did a class and refilled water bottle twice
    * breakfast in the garden with my dad which was lovely(finished off the ys bread)
    * I wanted to be able to chill this weekend but also feed us well so I've made
    - spag bol (lots of veggies in there from the back of the fridge)
    - chilli - its taken me years to make the perfect chilli for Mr Lucky (now you know I like to use things up/make concoctions...remember the chili in the leek and potato soup or the pickled onions in a spag bol disasters well I now have this recipe for chilli perfected so I will not deviate!
    - with two chicken breasts I've made a jerk chicken recipe using a simplycook box of spices my dad got cheap
    - with another two chicken breasts I've made a vietnamese style chicken dish - this has used the last of simpy cook boxes thankfully (I do have two little pots of spices left for when i do wedges but don't fancy them with either of these)
    - made a pile of mash as the spuds in the cupboard were sprouting - used some of this mash to make mackeral fishcakes... will freeze these unless the family decide thats what they fancy for tea! - this also used up a jar of horseradish bbe April 2017! Tasted fine though!

    * washed 2 loads on the quick wash and hung out to dry
    * washing ds2s stuff from his trip, not as muddy as I'd expected :) will hang out too
    * put the sleeping bag on the line to air before storing away for next time its needed
    * put the suitcase outside to dry the inside lining as ds2s flannel we put on the bottom of it not in a bag, will give this back to my folks once dry

Right thats it for me, I'm exhausted and hope to sleep well tonight as its been a long week. Take care all.

Evening all :hello: didn't have time this morning to post so today I have:
Pegged one load out, dried it and put away, along with two other dry loads from earlier in the week
    Loaded wm for overnight tonight
Made curry to swerve a pay day treat, naan from freezer another portion saved for lunches. Used some fenugreek leaves that are so long past their bb date it had rubbed off :rotfl:
Did big payday shuffle so much easier with new sheet :A still used a trusty recycled envelope for some basic maths ;)
    Some other bits of admin
Do some planning for a few days away in a few weeks

    Evening all :)
Late post from me today, not sure why!
    Today's list:
    HG strawberries with breakfast :)
Made a couple of pots of strawberry jam - used jam sugar, so it has a slightly odd texture, but tastes nice :)
Made a banana loaf with a couple of defrosted bananas from the freezer, they looked weird and sloppy  but the cake worked fine :)
    Picked a few more strawberries
And a big bunch of rhubarb
    Washed, chopped and froze rhubarb
Walked into town to post an ebay parcel, pay in a cheque and get my hair cut :)
Washed out a polythene bag and pegged on the line to dry - I always reuse them unless they have had meat, fish or anything messy or greasy in them :)
Watered garden pots and other things that needed it (despite all the rain we have had)
Had HG salad leaves with lunch
Chicken, sweet potato and chickpea curry made yesterday for dinner - I made a really huge one, and have frozen another 6 portions.
    Sold another ebay item
    Bit of business paperwork
And that is about it for today :)

    I have been reading along.
Have been tying up lots of loose ends which some how create more loose ends, I'm behind on 2 reports, throw in nasty cold in the middle of the week, and a stairlift that has gone on the blink (worst time possible)-I can safely say it has been a mare of a week.......and all I want to do is make up my Christmas shoeboxes which I hated doing last year, but now I've got the hang of them, have really enjoyed prepping them and using up items left over from even though shoeboxes are impossible to get

I just wanted to say good luck with the surgery Dawn, hope everything goes okay.
I've got more pre op stuff to do next week , as I'm a wheeling germ at the minute and 8 months of infections, the hospital are putting alot of precautions in place (they are impressive with their infection control I cant fault at all)

1LL I'm so glad that DS2 had a good time.
    foxgloves sending hugs x

I seem to be spending alot of monies in preparations at the minute
*hangs head in shame* I did have to throw some veges out into the recycling this week.
DD has taken over cooking using the use ups
Picked up a couple of presents reduced saving 7.50 on each
Making the most of the good weather and getting washing done-we have loads!
Still decluttering-very snail pace, i'm slowly noticing a difference
Just about to put more washing away. Did have to use a laundrette friends own at one point as weather so bad and washing was overtaking the house.

I'm sure there is more, just can't think of anything else at the minute.
Have a great day everyone x

  • HI everyone from the sunny NW
I've been reading along like HK but not posting much. Been a mega fortnight as worked 12 days in a row with FT job and 2 x self emp roles. Done all my work from self emp role #2 and submitted invoice :)
On the MSE front I have put lots of washing on the line - the sunshine is very welcome as DD2 is now home from uni with all her washing!
Been doing small shops but not wasting food - my food waste bin is very small these days - mostly tea bags and banana skins :)
Bought some cleanser and eye make up remover on offer in superdrug - when I got to the till I was charged far too much so I queried it - neither saving showed up on the till so they apologised and corrected it for me !
Hugs to those who need them
