Thanks Dawn and BB, definitely a quiet weekend on the cards for him after this week's excitement.
Dawn, you've not been given much notice for the op, I hope you manage to steer clear of the colds going around and all goes well.
Foxgloves, must be hard coming up on the year markers, big hugs from us. (I can't get my computer to put that dodgy group hug emoji up for some reason!)

Well, my little man is all packed and sorted, you wouldn't believe the amount of clothing they're required to take for two days!! (I did manage to get the sleeping bag to fit inside the big case eventually by sitting on it  I do wonder how much of it will actually make it home with him though! :o Talking with other parents up at the school today it sounds like his case is the smallest! and I struggled to carry it down the stairs tonight, I really hope the accommodation is all on one level :o
Money sorted, didn't bother with the wonderweb on the sleeves as I found a pajama long sleeved top that fit but doesn't look like a pj top if you see what I mean so I ironed that for him instead.
We popped out to aldee to get some snacks to go in his case for their midnight feast, he picked a tub of pringle type crisps and a pack of sherbert lemons so less then £2 spent .

I can't settle off to sleep but thats not a surprise really, having a milky drink then going up to try again. I wish I could find my headphones that I leant to ds1 as then I'd put the mindfulness app on to help me sleep.
Right warm milk is drinkable so I better get off, take care all.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. I'm OK today. It was just a wobble caused by a very specific thing on a TV drama I caught up with yesterday, & of course, in the background, I'm still really hoping the sale of our parents' house doesn't fall through, as I just need this all to be finished now.
On to today..... Rain forecast so am staying home for a day of leisure. Money saving bits as follows:
    *Bake sourdough loaf.
    *Make packed lunch.
*Incorporate as many 'Use-it-ups' as possible into tonight's quesadillas & salad.
    *Zero spending today.
*Cut another lettuce & a bit of watercress.
*Feed all fruiting veg (scheduled for Sundays & Wednesdays)
*Write job lists for Thursday & Friday to ensure I complete a few tasks which have deadlines.
*Water conservatory plants as this fell off the list yesterday.
*A scoop of porridge oats for my garden bird friends this morning to stretch their dwindling seed supplies out another day.
OK, off to sort out dough, then I'm a woman of leisure for today xx

    Morning all,

Todays list isn't going to be a long one as I don't have the energy but here goes..
    # clear the kitchen using stardrops/washable cloths done
    # put everything away thats been pulled out whilst trying to get packed. done
    # maybe a little snooze
    # find missing headphones before I actually need them done
    # check banking/update spreadsheet done
    # easy meal for me & dh tonight as our planned leftovers last night changed into going out for food with the boys. Ds1 has a friend coming over who is a picky eater, I think we'll call into Mr T on the way home from school and let them chose what they're going to eat.
    # hoping the weather improves so that dh & I can go for a walk together, free exercise as I needed to miss out on the gym today.
 Replaced the gripper handle on my old badminton racket as it had deteriorated over the many years its been in the loft, we've recently started playing again so I mentioned to my mum yesterday that I needed to order a replacement gripper and she said she had some they've not used in the back of her cupboard, so shes sent it to me, which is decluttering for her and money saving for me :money:
 re-instated a use up box in my kitchen and made a note in my bullet journal of what I want to use up, will try to use something out of it every day from tomorrow. There are a few things we've been given like simplycook spices, some dried chick peas, some crab soup and skimmed milk powder that I took when our old tenant left as well as the cous cous that never seems to go down! Also wiped down the shelves in my baking cupboard and reorganised so that everything can now be seen.
 put library books in my car ready to take back when on the school run
 prepped rm surveys as I'm a bit behind as my heads not been in it this week!
 Library books returned so as not to incur any late fees
 checked off just for points credit card. all fine

Thats about it. Take care all

Has anyone got a tried and tested recipe that I could use the powdered milk in? if not I'll try bbc food pages.

Hi 1LL - any recipes that call for milk you can use that and add water.

I used to make instant oats pots for work - 3 spoonfuls of oats, 1 of powdered milk, raisins (or any topping you want) and then when I got to work add boiling water and stir. :)
  • Hi guys :D I made it to the end of my stint at work - so relieved to have 4 days off!

I took 1.5hrs leave and got home early. It was bliss! Have gone round, tidied & cleaned, vacuumed d/s & hallway. So my day tomorrow will not begin with catching up on the house :D

foxgloves sorry you had a wobble, it's bound to happen from time to time x

Dawn yay and eek re the op! Hope it comes and goes quickly x

1LL hope you're feeling a little more relaxed today.

So I haven't done much today but I have:

    * took food to work - although did buy chips :o
    * someone bought in chocolate & biscuits so helped myself freely :D:o
    * checked on greenhouse plants & watered
    * checked on my mother-in-law's tongue plant I took a cutting of and it's rooted :j

Madam is in the bath now and I am going to go and get her out and finally draw the pattern from a dress I have and love :money:
