Got up early and went through the cupboards, fridge and freezer and made a list of all our food. We could probably go another week but the options would be pretty weird and maybe not all that nutritious so a shop is needed today. I’ve made a list for the week based on what we have and then worked out what I need. We’re going later.
Usually OH does the shopping and don’t think he works out meals in advance so hoping this saves us money.0 -
Total of 45.59 for the weekly shop. Not too bad but am sure I could trim it further. It included some things that will last a month like our marmite and loo roll (extra large pack).
Annoyed that we had to go to Sains£bury as there’s some things that Ald1 don’t do - lentils for example.
Have saved the receipt so at the end of the month I can see where savings can be made!0 -
A few other good survey sites are
Prolific Academic
Opinion Outpost
Qmee and Curious Cat (both are app based)
I use Swagbucks too but find it takes ages too build these other ones are quicker.0 -

Our local Aldi do lentils. Usually next to the fresh vegetables (potatoes, etc). They also have broth mixture, dried peas ,etc.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Cheers! I have heard people mention prolific academic on here - I’ll mention these to him and maybe he will sign up to all of them!
Our Aldi definitely doesn’t do them unfortunately, not sure why! It’s not too far to pop to the other supermarket but a bit of a pain!0 -
Populus also provide quite a few surveys. There are dry periods, but by and large they are my biggest payer. When you are on maternity leave you should have the extra money from not having to buy a travel card and even when you go back could your husband cut back on the petrol a bit? That is a lot just for running around.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220

Yes won’t have to pay for my travel card which is great. Especially for the few months when I get full pay as that can all go straight to overpayments. :j
The petrol costs are quite high and I think we can bring them down. Its partly where he is taking our daughter to visit the PILs as they live some distance. We will have to cut this out.0 -
A few smallish transfers over the last few days to tidy my account and debt is now at £12,371.190

So I’ve been over the shopping receipt to look for savings. £3 on alcohol free beer for me. I could have gone without but it’s pretty miserable being heavily pregnant in this heat so I’m not going to beat myself up for that!
I don’t eat meat or dairy and while OH and daughter both do their diet at home is pretty much vege. Looking at the receipt the meat free substitutes are quite expensive. I’ll look to be replacing with beans and pulses I think0 -
Not much spending to report over the weekend apart from the food shop. We went to a village fete yesterday and spent a few pounds from our coin jar on a juice and piece of cake for our daughter - no money out of the account though.
A few bills came out today though - council tax, TV and an insurance payment.
My OH is taking the little one to stay and play today so that’ll be £1.50 but she gets a drink and a biscuit thrown in and usually has a good time (unless she’s in an angry mood!) so that’s a bargain.0
