charged incorrect price and asked to pay correct price

If you want to shop there again and hold your head up high in your village/town etc. then you should go back and pay (or return some items)
If you'd have willingly paid the correct price at the till for what you were buying then you haven't lost out really!!! Or would you have put some items back???How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
If you had got home, checked your receipt and noticed they had openly discounted by 5% and not 50%.
You then contacted the shop and they said tough or similar - would you be happy.
Now reverse this scenario and that’s how the shop feel.
Do the right thing and pay the correct price for the goods you bought - no more, no less0 -

I know what you mean, but it would seem a bit of an overreaction to me. The OP was quite happy to take advantage of a 50% off offer. They didn't keep a running total of what they were buying and were mistakenly only charged half of what they should have been (ie they were only charged 25% not 50%).
Don't see why getting it corrected would worry the OP. Well, I can, but it would be wrong.

Here is what the Citizens Advice has to say https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/if-something-is-advertised-at-the-wrong-price/
But the goods have been advertised at the correct price? (50% off).
It's the application of the discount that's gone wrong. I don't think the price is in dispute.0 -

Why would the items do that? The OP knew what the original cost of each one was and that they would get 50% off, if they pay back the undercharge then they've got what they wanted at the price they expected to pay.0 -
I wish I had enough money not to notice the difference between £1000 and £500 :-(Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0

What you believe and what happened are 2 different things, you don't know me, I wasn't checking the prices as I picked up items. The shop was extremely busy, hence I check my receipt when I get home.
We all know that there are plenty of families who are “a bit council” but I could swear they used to have enough decency to feel slightly ashamed of it. When did it become acceptable to bring this sort of attitude into polite society?0 -
