Lost postage receipt and so owe ASOS £200 - help!

Hi all,
I bought some items on ASOS a few weeks ago on credit, using Klarna.
Nothing fitted, so I returned the following day at my local post office using the returns label provided by ASOS.
I have had no email from ASOS saying they've received my return, so I tweeted them and asked them to check - still nothing
In the past week I've realised I've lost the proof of postage receipt given to me by the post office - spoken to post office and they say once the receipt is lost, there's nothing I can do. I didn't pay for a tracked postage service (as I did it without even thinking) so I have no proof.
I bought the items on credit using Klarna, and now it's looking very likely I am going to have to pay Klarna £200 for clothes that I don't have, that have got lost somewhere.
I think I know what the answer is, but can anyone advise if there's ANYTHING I can do? I really can't afford to pay out £200, let alone for something I don't even have!
Thanks in advance

I think you already know the answer if they don't turn up.0

Was it a prepaid label or did you pay for the return?
If you paid and it's lost then Asos won't refund you and you won't be able to claim from Royal Mail without proof of posting. Without paying for a suitably insured service you wouldn't get anywhere near £200 back anyway...0 -
Proof of posting wouldn’t have covered the £200 anyway unfortunatelyI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
