Stubhub withholding tickets

Options
Hi all,

Long and protracted issue so will not bore you with specifics but Stubhub have closed my account with them. However I have ‘live’ tickets I have purchased on Stubhub which I now cannot access or use owing to the closure.

Having contacted them, I have been told they will not reinstate my account so therefore I have paid almost £500 for services that Stubhub have not provided.

Can anyone advise where I stand with this?

    How did you pay?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Credit Card. I know I can do a chargeback but I want the tickets.

If the reason for the account closure can’t be challenged then get your refund and buy new tickets from elsewhere. I suspect their terms allow them to close/suspend your account with good reason so the best you’re going to get is a refund.

Could be worth OP checking out "Consequential loss" and see if it could fit within that scope, particularly if the price goes up or they get sold out.

I have zero idea if that could or could not work though to be fair

I think that would depend on the reason for the account closure. If the problem is self-inflicted (e.g. they broke the terms and conditions) then the loss is theirs to bear.

Yes, it was a breach of t&c’s that caused the closure of my account but I believe said breach was done with valid reason.

I purchased tickets for a concert in November and within 48 hours of making purchase my availability changed meaning I was no longer available for the concert. I called Stubhub to enquire as to what options were available and was told reselling via stubhub was the only available option. However, firstly these are physical tickets not e-tickets/QR code etc and I do not have the tickets as the seller is not obliged to send them until one day before the concert. This would make getting the tickets to the new buyer in time for the concert, virtually impossible. I also can not verify the tickets are genuine or not as again I do not have the tickets. Also the seller may not send me the tickets at all so in such circumstance I would not be able to provide the new buyer with these tickets. I have also been informed that if I sold the tickets on Stubhub and was unable to provide the tickets to the new buyer that I would lose the cost of the tickets and be charged a 40% penalty fee. I am also concerned that by making a listing for tickets I do not have and cannot confirm the provision of could be regarded as false advertising or be fraudulent.

OK ... so what was the breach? All you've said is that you bought tickets and then couldn't go (in effect, changed your mind). Did you not actually pay for the tickets?

As DoaM says, what was the breach? You're clearly not giving us the full story. No one's going to be able to provide constructive advice based on the limited details you've provided. From your account as it is, I can't even see how a chargeback is possible.

Apologies, I requested a chargeback on the tickets owing to the reasons above.

Why on earth did you attempt a chargeback for something that was your fault ?
