I like turning the tuning wheel on a car radio to get a station; I hate all these modern push-button designs. Does anyone know a car that comes with a radio having a tuning knob?0

I chose outgoing model of certain car, to avoid touchscreens but in a few years it won't be that easy.
BTW, I think Fiat 124, base model, have small 3 inch screen and no nav, etc. Possibly Mazda MX5 too, as these are the same systems.0 -

looks like a duster then - sounds good. Mid range too expensive if paying for things I don't need.0

I think they got rid of tuning knobs because knobs will tune the radio while driving along. . .
Yes it was nice and simple; you didn't need to look at the radio as you could hear the stations tuning in/out. With the pushbutton ones you have to look down to select the right buttons; even worse trying to reprogram a station when you drive into a different region. A nice simple radiomobile with volume and tuning knobs and nothing else (well maybe LW/MW on the better models); ah those were the days.0 -
Hi
I am looking for suggestions which new cars do not have info-tainment screens or sat nav screens built in. I am fed up with negotiating menus etc just to turn the radio or air con on. I know most do have screens but I am interested if forum members know which makes and models still do not. I am looking at mid range to exec level cars. Not interested in one offs, kit cars or super cars. I know many of those do not have screens.Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience? Why? So you can argue with them?0 -
I used to like the delay before an old valve set warmed up, are they still made?0

...if you're lucky, a lot are touch screen operated now. Downright dangerous IMO as you have to take your eyes off the road and look at the screen to adjust it on the move. With knobs and buttons you can do it by touch alone.0 -

Most modern car stereos should have the function to automatically find and store all the radio stations in the area and re tune automatically when driving to different regions.
DAB radio is even better at doing this and really should be the standard now.0
