a very nice lady assured me I had met all the requirements and my £85 incentive payment will show in my account in 1-2 days. They apologised for the error but couldn't explain why it's been delayed, result :T

Was there any clarification about it needing to be calendar month, of within 1 month of switch after switch date?

I'm unsure of your question, I didn't ask any questions why it could have been unpaid, it's clearly an oversight by them the payment hasn't gone through.

    I would advise this .....

Wait until until your switch has been completed before using the debit card for a purchase and then comply with the T&C's for the switch offers. Regarding dates as you mention above, I just made sure I paid in £1500 straight away and then after that made sure I paid in another £1500 by the 26th of the following month and so on (26th of Nov was my switch completion date)

Doing it the way above I did actually make 7 monthly payments, but it was £1500 recycled and I never left that amount in there, just a nominal amount.

    Just additional information.....

My wife opened an account shortly after I opened mine, same thing happened with hers, no £85 incentive paid. Slight difference with hers, she used her debit card before the switch had been completed, 2 days before. They are still paying the £85 incentive, no problems, no questions asked apart from the usual security stuff. An apology for the delayed payment and it should hit the account shortly.

BTW my payment hit the account in less than 24hrs after ringing them.

Well I haven't waited! It might be zero, zilch, nada..

One derelict Tesco a/c in the process of being switched to Halifax which has been my main a/c for 10 years.

I'm quite happy with £135 apart from the paperless billing but figured that I can change my mind and 'uncheck' the box after £85 has landed! Worth a bit of aggravation for that sum I figured! Certainly worth more than the interest from Mr T.
(Yes I'm one of those sad people who like to see a paper a/c and I don't have a printer either....)

I can't find the T&C for the now expired halifax switch offer anymore! My switch to Halifax completes on 1 July. Regarding the £1500 monthly deposit requirement, is this beginning after the switch has completed?
    Thanks

"Plus £85 after 6 months when you pay in at least £1500 each calendar month to your switched account, go paper-free and use your debit card to pay for something."

Hmm, wondering if this wording is taken to the letter, a switch ending on e.g. the last day the month would need the £1500 paid in that very day to count as "each calendar month"

I rang up Halifax to confirm this as my switch was completed on the 15th. They advised me that the calendar month would then go from the switch date to the 15th of the following month. So I made my first months £1,500 deposit on the 5th of the following month and will make all subsequent payments on the 5th too...
