The filter is built into the back of the tank, but if we open the lid we would have no lights! As they are built into the lid.
Pets At Home have no email contact, so after 6 attempts to phone, I finally got to speak to the shop.
The guy suggested I just pop in and they'll exchange it... :rotfl:
After pointing out that this isn't possible (!) and that it would be impractical and annoying to come back twice in a day, he agreed we could have a refund when we brought it back.
Hopefully they will honour this.
I will now do some research on tanks that do NOT leak! Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be that small; bigger is fine as long as it isn't HUGE!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
See if there's a branch of Maidenhead Aquatics near you - some of them are within garden centres. https://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/storefinder They're very knowledgeable at the two we use.
Sorry, can't help on a specific small tank - we started with a 40l one when a friend's son lost interest. My husband upgraded and we now have a 190l one perched on its own cabinet :eek:0 -
Honestly every one of my tanks have come from eBay or local selling groups, you tend to get very good sized tanks with all equipment as a bundle when people are giving up keeping fish, moving home, or just getting rid of a spare tank. I've never paid more than £100 and that was for a 4ft tank with full setup and stand, smaller ones have been £10-£50.0

I have a Fluval Flex in my kitchen, it's a bit more expensive but a lovely tank, easy to maintain and no leaking!! I think mine is the 57lAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Is the tank leaking though? Or just condensation from the lid dripping down?
I added a plastic strip to what was supposed to prevent the condensation from dripping outside the tank. Had a small drip strip but there was a large gap between that and the edge so condensation formed outside the strip which dripped outside the tank.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It seems to be condensation pooling at the top then dripping through the gap between the lid and the tank.
We are picking up a second hand tank today (Home 80 aquarium) which although much bigger seems to have good reviews.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

That looks much better (actually looks nice too), have a look for 'aquarium condensation tray' on Amazon however as that looks to be open top. You can get a more or less suitable sized one and cut down if needed.0 -

We only have mesh covers on our two reef tanks (to keep the fish from jumping out and the cats getting in) and never have any problems with condensationAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

It's not condensation that would be a problem for the OP but her two little toddlers0 -

Yes, I will get a mesh cover for the top, but for now I have got chairs surrounding it so they cannot get near!
They understand that mummy will be VERY cross if I find any of their toys in the tank!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
