I'm not sure. Water just seems to pool around the top then dribble out. Opening it to clean results in water everywhere!! Seems to be both pump and filter that cause water to spit.Colin_Maybe wrote: »If it's Pets At Home (why be coy about it?) which tank is it?

(Yes, shocking reviews!! There were no way near that many bad reviews when we bought it but I have just read the recent ones and it seems lots of people having issues with leaks! Oddly, my fish love swimming against the current...)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Ah, ok, it's most likely condensation which is exacerbated by a domed lid, have you tried leaving the lid off (if you don't have cats!) to see if it's any better? And you could try lowering the filter so it doesn't cause as much disturbance on the surface.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Oddly, DH put tape all around the top late last night to prevent water escaping but the 2 new bits of kitchen roll he put down are soaked!!
Can't open the lid due to two toddlers who would play sink or float!
I'll email the shop tonight and see what they say!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Looking at those reviews I wouldn't even bother trying to help you solve the problems I'm afraid. Maybe see if the shop can store the fish until you've sorted a better option (presuming they will refund/exchange).0 -
Out of interest (I have an aquarium myself) what fish have you got in it?0

Water will always find a way out!
Could you try taking the lid off for a few hours while they're in bed to see if it helps? Does they whole black plastic lid even come off?
If you actually want to keep the tank rather than bother with the faff of swapping it out for another one you can make a plat lid with these clips https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=Glass+Tank+Lid+Cover+Clips&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=1 and a piece of glass or perspex cut to the correct size.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I think the filter is built into the hood itself along with the lights. Hard to tell from photos.0 -
