I was totally abled bodied, working, and renting from a private landlord. During which time I was hospitalised, became disabled, still paid my rent with no income, and was rewarded by my landlord destroying everying I owned and evicting me.

Youre somehow saying this is my fault?

The law allows 6 years for you to take action. I strongly recommend you seek medical advice, as this trauma is still clearly affecting your life.

    I think I’m being as clear and blunt as I can be, you are talking about two separate times you went into hospital, I’m referring to this time;

I had a little chat to my partner about all this. He reminded me of something.

When I was hospitalised for a second time, and I knew it would be for months at least, I gave up my privately rented flat and moved my belongings into storage. When it came time for me to leave hospital, they wouldn't discharge me until I had somewhere to go. I spent 3 months looking for somewhere to rent, whilst taking up a hospital bed at the cost to the taxpayer of about £500 per night.

Just giving you the facts on what your unwillingness to rent to disabled people is costing everyone.

That waste of NHS resources for three months was entirely your fault yet you don’t see that & instead your blaming it on others.

Oh - if we're talking about wasting NHS resources, I'd like to give a shout out to my landlord who caused me to have PTSD and require years of medication and therapy.

I'm sorry I would never rent to you regardless if you are disabled or not... you sound like a self entitled twerp to me .

Put your energies into being a productive human being rather than the "Woe is me" attitude.. Plenty of jobs you can do you just seem to think it should be handed to you on a plate.

Anyone with disabilities would not be spending time on an internet chat room telling people that LL's are scum etc, they would be living life.

I'm sorry but you are being refused a home not because of your disability but because of your attitude..it stinks !!!

So, these landlords who don't even meet the tenants and go through an agent are refusing to rent to me because of my attitude. Finally, it all makes sense.

While moping around on benefits, I've managed to save up enough for a deposit for my own house (well, I have a partner, it'll be his too) How's that for a can-do attitude?

now I know this thread is nonsense. Can't say anything more as it would be against forum rules.

Sainsburys are in the business of feeding people... British Gas on keeping them warm... Next on clothing them...

British Gas have social responsibilities too and take them seriously, a policy for protection of vulnerable people and they don’t just cut off supply if you can’t pay:

It seems that your solution is just 'put all disabled people in social housing forever' - plenty of us don't want that. We are not second class citizens, and have rights.

People who live in social housing are not second class citizens either, they are human beings like me or you and a substantial proportion of them are disabled.

Watch your tone when talking about social housing and the people who live there, you’re coming across like you think you are superior to them.

    Without contravening forum rules

    In a nutshell:

K80 thinks society and indeed every LL owes them something because their the victim.

Despite being offered various accommodation by social housing which is a rarity given their already limited stock, OP declines as 'not suitable'. Still blames the LL for not accommodating them in a timely manner

Not sure what else to say....

The council had bent backward for you and your still picky, unbelievable.

A lot of people benefits/homeless would have chewed your hand if you offered them housing rather than remain in grotty Bed and breakfast.

    Well done for saving though.

In a nutshell, I'm not the OP. I'm a violent and dangerous schizophrenic who has psychotic episodes when they smell cannabis, or are out the house for too long. You want me to live in social housing miles away from a pharmacy with a communal area that reeks of cannabis. I'm not being picky. I'm doing what I have to to avoid having a psychotic episode in which I become hugely violent and dangerous.
