Crack on panoramic roof

I had this issue before on a used car. You have 30 days to exchange a car if any fault - tell dealer in writing if they wont do anything. Most main dealers should deal with it but you may have to speak to general manager to get action as some sales managers don't seem to care (after a sale).0

Think. Something like this could be due to damage. Are you prepared to indemnify anyone that follows your advice? Thought not.
Damage doesn't count as a fault.0 -
I honestly don't see the attraction of these roofs. The wife had one on her last car and I don't think we ever opened the roof lining. Yes, I know this isn't remotely helpful.
I can see both sides of the problem. The dealer will say the crack wasn't there when sold and the purchaser can't prove that it was. Therefore, if a warranty claim isn't possible, it seems the OP either has to pay for it or claim on insurance. Protected NCD?Je suis sabot...0 -

Even if the OP had protected NCD he would still have to pay the excess which will be much more than his glass excess plus an increase in his next renewal. Personally I prefer the glass roof rather than a sun roof as with air con you never open the sun roof anyway.0 -
As one of the previous posts the panoramic roof may not be covered by your insurer as part of the glass cover. I had a Peugeot 308 SW with panoramic roof and found that if I claimed for a replacement it would cost app £900 and would be covered under my Comprehensive policy and I would loose part of my no claims plus paying the first £300. My insurer added cover at no extra cost apart from a £25 admin fee.
Had the same on my old SW. roof cracked while driving along on a cold morning.
In the end I just drive the car into the ground and get the sun blind closed!0 -
The dealer is fitting a new roof free of charge just wait for the part as it's in back order.
Thanks for all the advice0
