Morning everyone...Hiya Haribo, I see ya lurking!!!

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

:cry: Sorry for the tears, I'm sad as I have to go back to wo*k today. I love my time off sooooo much...going back is the worst bit of having a holiday. My next day off is Christmas Day...

OK, I'll try and stop blubbing for a minute to get this post done. It didn't snow here in N.Ireland last night, and like Mean Marie I am relieved! We do usually get a bit of a dusting at some point. I am not that fond of it, especially as I live near the top of a hill and the gritters don't come into our little development. It's v.scary when you start going backwards with no control. Catowen, you are lucky that you stay nice and toasty down in Cornwall.

Pink, how are you dearie? Haven't seen you about for a day or two. Hope DD has stopped her brattish behaviour. BTW how did your OH's interview go last week? Obviously he's a genius (well he did marry you!) so fingers crossed it went well. Your family is totally going through some merry times at the minute. 2007 will be "that year" for you all.

I've got no news. The wo*k thing overshadows everything, aw well.

Have a fabulous Monday everyone.

Snowy

    Hello Snowy & everyone else,

We didn't get any snow either. :D Just sunshine & blue skies. DH making a huge mess in our bedroom doing more work on our in-built. I just vacumed today as well and he's saying it needs it again. He still hasn't worked out how to use one. Having early tea tonight and then off to the shops. Probably won't get back until after 8pm and then I have the joyous task of putting everything away. How I hate that bit.

Snowy I hope you got around to mending your work tops. :D
Well I can't really remember what yesterday's thread had in it  so ((hugs)) to those suffering and hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeee

P.S. I'm half way finished on my dishcloth. :)
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Good morning SNOWY and AUSSIE. SNOWY - what a shame you have to go back to work. Hopefully, it won't seem so bad once you get there.

I haven't read the thread for the last couple of days; I hope to get time today but, meanwhile, (((Hugs))) to everyone in need. I hope the weather hasn't spoiled anyone's weekend and that all the poorly ones are feeling better.

Well, for some reason I didn't get much time for the computer over the weekend; well, I know the reason - DH was at home and, every time I managed to sit down here, he found a reason to interrupt. Men are so good at that, aren't they? It has poured with rain since first thing yesterday morning and it's still raining now, which means he can't work today. I'm glad I saved the ironing - he can do that later! I'll also get him to spot clean the dining room carpet and he can run the hoover over as well!

On Saturday, we did a bit of Christmas shopping; Woolworths have tins of Celebrations and mini Toblerones for £5 each, plus their own range of really low-priced choccies which we thought we'd try. We haven't tasted them yet; the packaging is very plain but, if they are nice choccies, they could easily be repackaged for pressies. They were so much cheaper than the brand names. I bought a couple of photo albums and the photos I ordered of the granchildren and DS2's kitten arrived within 48 hours of ordering, so I can make up the albums I'm planning for Christmas pressies. Has anyone been following the Festive Fivers thread? There are some really brilliant ideas for presents to make or buy for under a fiver. There are some very inventive people on MSE and I've collected loads of ideas from this thread. My 'wrapping-up' room - the spare room with a table and chair in it - looks like a bomb's hit it but I have made a good start on the wrapping and it's great just being able to shut the door on it without having to keep clearing it up.

Well, dinner tonight is bubble & squeak with olde English sausages and beans with crumble to follow. I managed to get a load of baking done on Saturday so we are OK for cakes this week.

For all those Strictly fans - that was the first time this series that the voting went the right way, wasn't it? I also disagreed with the judges about Gethin's rumba - he can rumba for me any time he likes!
I thought the guest dancers that were on last night were fantastic.

Well, I suppose I'd better have a shower, make another cuppa and get cracking on some chores.

Hope everyone has a great day; see you all later.

    How's FIL coping Mioliere?

Just waved off Mr Twit, damp here this morning..but no snow.

When I have taken Miss Twit to school, I really must get some jobs done around this place, I think a Flylady style of 15 minutes on each job will get me moving. Fingers crossed.

Pink, I hope Adam is still improving...and the hosp visit gives good news.
Luxor4 (?) and Mrs Mix, hope the joints aren't too sore in this damp weather.

Hugs to all poorlies and those with sick littlies. (( ))

As it is the Queen's diamond anniversary, shoud we all have sent them a card?

Good morning. How I hate getting up in the darkicon9.gif I'm sure if we were meant to, we'd be able to see without the light on, just like animals:confused:

Anyway off to the gym shortly, for the 7am start. Taking my DGS2's birthday presents over today. He's 1 tomorrow, and I want his gifts there when he wakes up:D So that will take care of my morning very nicely. As DGS1 only does afternoons at school, I'll see them both:D

Just looked out of the window, and there's no frost :j That means I can have another coffee, rather than shiver scraping the windscreen down. :D See, I'm very easily pleased:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day, and ((((hugs)))) for the poorly ones.

WHATATWIT - thanks for asking about FIL; he's coping surprisingly well. We phoned him yesterday and he said the time is going really quickly because he's keeping himself busy. I'd had visions of him wandering aimlessly around the house looking for something to do. Of course, it's early days yet but he definitely sounds more positive than we expected. He's looking forward to Christmas at SIL's, which is obviously giving him something to aim for, and we shall all meet up and make a fuss of him. The only worrying thing is that, because he's having to look after himself, he's having to do more standing and he's finding that tiring - he had a knee replacement a couple of years ago - but he knows he'll just have to take it slowly.

Didn't post yesterday or get on-line at all. Had to go to work, which was pretty awful. Hope all those people that are still feeling sick and fed up get better soon. I have woken up with a stinking cold:( haven't had one of those for ages. Still have loads to do today. Mainly shopping and sorting out our disgusting bedrooms particularly DS which looks like a bomb has gone off! One day I'll get to go to bed when I feel like c..p.

Dinner will be chiken soup made from the chiken we had yesterday. :p

Have a good day everyone :A xxxx

  • Morning

Really dark here this morning, so leaving taking the dog out for a while. We had snow yesterday, we were in B & Q and when we came out it was a blizzard

Snowy, sorry you have to go to work, I used to have a job I hated, and you have my sympathy

N9eav, 78K for a head teachers job, wow, mind you I have watched Waterloo Road and if that's what school is really like, they will earn every penny :D

I need some inspiration for tea, my chest freezer is full, so there is lots in there and I need to start emptying some cupboards as we are hoping to replace the kitchen before Christmas

Hope everyone has a good day x
