Hello just checking in while both boys are having a nap (so rare they do this at the same time, I'm enjoying the peace
)
DS1 is covered in chicken pox, DS2 very lethargic so am keeping a close eye on both of them. DH and I are friends again since my last post
Busy with work yesterday but off today so lots of snuggles with the boys.
I still haven't received a refund for DS2s jumperoo I returned to Asda last week so just emailed customer services again to chase this up.
In other news I got offered the job I was interviewed for :T:T Negotiations are ongoing with hours (pretty much agreed) and salary (a work in progress  ) so just need to stay calm and keep the lines of communication open and we'll see how it all plays out.
I might sound a bit greedy but I know my worth, especially in the area I live, there's not a lot of people with the specific experience I have that is essential for the role and I'm not prepared to accept their initial offer as it was bordering on offensive for the skills and experience I have.
Spends yesterday on medicine and anti-itch lotions & potions for DS1 and stocked up on his favourite drinks and ice lollies as he has no appetite so just trying to keep him rested and hydrated. He was a little trooper at my Mums yesterday while I was working but think he's pleased I'm at home today
So grocery/medicine spends were £22.60, taking me up to £285.12 for the month.
Had another ebay sale yesterday so £6.76 sent across to CC1. Total ebay profit for the month now at £80.63
NSD today and Sunday taking me up to 7 for the month. Still need to go the garage for DH's MOT bill, will get that sorted at some point this week.
Have another day off tomorrow then working Thursday and Friday, hope the new job situation is sorted as I hate keeping it from my colleagues but obviously don't want to mention anything until terms and conditions are agreed and accepted (all being well).
Might take advantage of DS1 being unwell to have a look to see if we have any more bits and pieces to list on ebay as this is helping to chip away at CC1 with the added benefit of getting rid of more unused/outgrown items from the house.1 -
Congratulations on the job offer DITR1
-
Congratulations on the job offer, sorry to read boys are ill but won't be long til they are back running around causing mischief haha, take the rest while you can1
-
Sorry to hear the boys are ill, nothing worse.
Well done on the job offer, hope they agree to pay you what you're worth and you can get it settled soon.
You've also done really well with your eBay sales, I'm far too lazy to do it I'm afraid but my DH does sell his tech stuff on every so often. Hoping he'll have a few things to sell as he clears out the garage.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.1 -
Thanks all x
DS1 seems to have stopped sprouting spots& DS2 definitely brighter today too.
Still waiting to hear from the new job, hopefully no news is good news as I think it would have heard had it been an outright no. Just need to hold my nerve
Another quietish day today, actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow just to get out of the house for a while!1 -
Glad there is some improvement in DS's, and fingers crossed for the job x1
-
Well done for holding out for what you want, some would just cave as they want the job and then regret it once settled in. glad there is some improvement in DSs1

Thank you so much for all the well wishes with the new job, I'm pleased to say I got what I wanted salary wise with a written confirmation that this will be reviewed again for a further potential increase in 12 months time so I have now accepted the position and will start in September :T:T
This will help massively with bringing the debt down as, looking at the figures and depending on my pension contributions, I'll be approximately £250-£300 per month better off compared to my current job (although I will have to factor in parking costs which I need to research). For our family life it will also be much better as it's flexible working hours, office shutdown at Christmas and no weekends. This is the total opposite of where I work now so this is another added bonus.
I'm under no illusion as to the fact it will be a more challenging role but after 3 years of primarily being Mum I'm ready to get back in the groove of being the old meWill need to buy some office wear ahead of starting the job but plenty of time to do this and hopefully keep spends to a minimum.
DS1 is over the worst of his chickenpox so he's much better, no sign of DS2 getting it yet and he generally seems brighter too.
Work's done for another week, will be handing my notice in on Monday as my line manager's been off this week and would like to speak to them face to face.
Spends since my last post include Garage bill for MOT £55, birthday cards £3.70, Groceries £57.27, new set of keys cut & a notice board for the kitchen to help us be a bit more organised £18.50. £15 set aside for me and DH to enjoy a takeaway tonight to celebrate the new job with a bottle of wine too
Another ebay sale £5.07 sent to CC1. Wednesday was a NSD. Finally received my refund from Asda too so have sent this across to DS2's JISA. Haven't managed to list anything else on ebay/Facebook.

Sounds like its a perfect fit for you. I glad you got what you wanted salary wise too, handing your notice is always a strange feeling but at least you know its for better things.
Super jealous with the xmas shutdown!! This is one of the things I do not like about my current job.
Glad to hear the boys are on the mend too1
