Congratulations, very pleased for you 👏👏👏
  • Thank you everyone, I'm so pleased to have secured the job  :)

I could barely type yesterday as I was exhausted, poor DS1 had been up most of the night with a tummy bug. Thankfully he's on the mend now so I feel more human today.

I've had a formal offer letter and contract emailed to me today, I've had a 4 day working week approved (They've suggested I work Mon-Thu which I've accepted as will work out perfectly, especially when DH has gigs booked as they tend to be weekend nights). They've also agreed to the salary I asked for, I can barely believe how well it's worked out. I've no doubts the job is going to be challenging and demanding but the terms & conditions I've secured certainly make for a positive first impression, hope it lasts!

There's a few pre-employment checks to get through and will need a DBS check but all being well I'll start in the next 3-4 weeks.

Again, this has worked out well as we can enjoy our little holiday next week and then I can get the boys settled back in their school routines before starting my job.

I may enjoy a couple of celebratory glasses of wine tonight  <3

Sounds like everything has fallen into place really well.

Enjoy your relative time freedom now. Good that you will still balance your work week with effectively 3 day weekends. They've been very organised getting the offer out so quick too which bodes well.

Thank you Beanie, Savings & Dan. (Oh and the wine last night was lovely 😊).

Gorgeous weather here today so got 2 loads of washing done and line dried.

Took the boys to the playground and treated them to an ice cream before going to Lidl to get a few supplies to take with us on our holiday.

Have ironed today's washing (same day as washing, what's wrong with me? 🙈🤣) and written a packing list. We're at a christening tomorrow afternoon then once we're home we'll get the boys showered and in PJ's early then they can watch a film while DH and I pack.

We're aiming to set off just after breakfast on Monday, we're all looking forward to a break and the forecast is looking good 🤞which is a lovely bonus.

All being well it'll be a lovely end to the summer holidays and my gap year 😉 before we get back into busy school and work routines next month x
