Well done on completing the tests. Hopefully it will balance out. Few people are good at tests across the board.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @savingholmes I still haven't heard anything so, for now, no news is good news!
Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped on Monday as the rain was relentless. We still went out but just popped to the library and then met Mum for coffee/juice/cake. The boys were in their puddle suits and wellies so we walked back home via a route I knew there'd be lots of puddles so they enjoyed jumping in those.
The weather was miserable again yesterday so the kids had a PJ day and enjoyed a bit extra screen time while I got some chores done. I also managed to scan a few more items for ziffit and listed 3 more items on vinted.
Free money update - in the last few days I've had £3.00 from DH using his Blue Light Card, £16.22 from Prolific, £1.92 Chase rewards, £5 from Microsoft rewards, £6.66 from TCB, £5.00 from Shoppix. I also bought a lottery ticket on a whim on Saturday, haven't bought in years. Got it checked on Monday and I'd won £30 so £28.00 of free money there too
Total for August now at £125.46
Sunny here today so I've put a load of washing on. Once that's done & hung out the plan is to go out for fresh air, probably at the playground. 4 weeks of the summer holidays, only 3 weeks to go... The end is in sight!!!2 -
A quick update that anyone in real life would just look at me strangely if I told them...
TopCashBack have an offer on today - spend £5 and get £1.50 cash back so I've logged in to both mine and DH's accounts and bought a £5 Asda voucher each. Also get 8p cash back each for the gift cards. I used my Chase card to pay for it so will get 5p each rewards there and will then spend the vouchers in conjunction with DH's Blue Light Card to save a further 10% I am officially MSE brainwashed!!!
(DH just rolled his eyes when I told him but I'm quite proud of myself)

You are doing really well on the free money. I think any time you can get a 10% discount and use vouchers is pretty fabAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Finally paid the car bill today, £395 😱 We only had £300 in the car pot so have had to raid a couple of the other pots to get it paid, should be able to get these back on track next payday.
Did have a couple of small wins today - received a £5 Amazon voucher for completing an additional survey for the postal survey company last month and a friend gave me a bottle of prosecco to say thanks for a favour I did her, there was no need for her to do this but much appreciated all the same.
I also popped into our local M&S again and there were some better discounts on the children's pyjamas I looked at last week so I got 4 pairs for £10, they should have been £38 full price. Again these will be out away for Xmas presents so have made a great start there. I'm thinking these wrapped up with a selection box or and/or a book from The Works will cover the younger children we buy for.
Still no news on the job assessments outcome, maybe tomorrow? 🤞2 -
Ouch to the car bill.
Lovely re the PJs.
Best of luck still for the job. Have you any other applications in at the moment?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

No other job applications yet @savingholmes
The plan was to wait until the boys went back to school next month before I started looking seriously but I'd have been a fool to not at least apply for the one I'm waiting on an outcome for as it matched my skill set and experience so well.
It's a year this week since I left my last job, can't believe how quickly the time has passed. With the way the price of everything is increasing I definitely need to find something else, our budget is getting incredibly stretched.2 -
Good luck with finding the right role for you. It can help to make a list of what you're hoping for - makes it easier to recognise when you see it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @savingholmes you gave me that advice a while back and I'd looked back on your post as that is exactly what I was going to do when I happened to see this job advertised.
Honestly it was like seeing my work history and future hopes combined into 1 advert which was why I applied. I'd have regretted not applying when the only reason against it was that it wasn't quite the right time.
Anyway you must be my good luck charm as I'm through to the next stage! I've just been offered a final interview next week 👏👏3 -
