    I've been Money Tipped!
    Two years is a long transition isn’t �� like I say it confuse me not that it takes much lol . His got a 3 year dla award and will be 18 when it ends .if pip start at 16 wouldn’t have a 1 year Dla award then have to go onto pip . Sorry if I’m being dumb lol x

    It wouldn't be a 2 year transition. Once he reaches 16 he should be invited to apply for PIP even though his DLA doesn't end until 2021.



    The process to transfer can take several months, depending on how long it takes for a face to face assessment, as most people have those. How long this takes depends on backlogs in different areas. Some wait weeks, while others wait months.



    Once the face to face is done a report is returned to DWP and a decision will be made on his claim. If he's awarded then payments will start approximately 7 weeks later and his DLA will end 4 weeks after the decision is made. If he's not awarded then his DLA ends 4 weeks later.



    Best thing you can do is post here again either nearer the time or when he's invited to apply and i'm sure someone will give you further advice.
