The Loan Board

Blummin' pooter.. I've spent half an hour constructing a response to this thread.. only for the message to disappear . I can't be a**ed to type it all in again but the main point was..
I didn't intend for this to turn into a b**chfest especially as the original intention was to point out the respect and friendliness that is shown on the DFW board compared to some of the others.
Astonsmummy, my original post was not aimed at you.. indeed it was about the sarcastic responses to the "most expensive loan" post that were completely unnecessary. However, I do think there was also no need to make the double standards comment as I stand by my opinion that some of the posts were narrowminded - it was a childish remark.
However, I also concede that my post on DFW could be perceived as "telling tales" and I am sorry if it gave that impression. I should, in hindsight have been more generic and not cross referenced with specific posts. It was intended to express my relief that on the whole - the DFW board is respectfull, helpful and mature.
I think this in-fighting and confrontation should stop now, life is too short to get worked up over what is; in the grand scheme of things is a minor issue. Lets keep poisonous remarks and confrontation out of the DFW board - which has brought us back in a circle to my original post.Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -

Uou need some Simon Cowell style frankness if you want to tease out the truth.
Most here seem to get off on being nice to one another, yet little evidence of any real problem solving.
Of course not. No problems are ever solved and it all just continues.
You seem to have a real thing for Simon Cowell. Please don't explain - it could only get ickier..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Problem is this part of the forum is'nt good at solving the underlying reasons some people suffer with debt.

Too much plaster sticking that will never solve the real issues.
However, however aware posters are on here about their underlying issues, they still have the very real issue of their debt to solve.
This board has great advice for doing that, and also, if you read all the threads, some straight talking when necessary as well.
I think it's a great place, and am grateful for all the support & practical advice that it provides, however (I know I've said however too many times), I do see exactly what you are saying and agree that there are some on here who have may not yet have faced up to their underlying issues - but can a forum force people to do that - and do FMs here stop providing support until they do ? I hope not, as everyone here needs help, whether they can see the reason for it or not

I view it as a matter of logic:
Are people who come to this board in total denial?- Of course they are - they don't think they've got a problem with debt which is why they're on a board called "Debt-free Wannabe".
- Perhaps there may be some inclination that something is wrong.
If you go somewhere where people are rude - for example a shop - do you?- Bend over and say "Give it to me baby - I'm lovin' it!"
- Never go back again.
This is a successful board - and as with any success, there are a multitude of "experts" waiting in the wings to snatch failure from the jaws of victory."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

No, talk more - practice makes perfect.
