LOL - this isn't the school playground - No? so why did the OP feel the need to come on to DFW and 'tell tales'?
all comments on all threads are up for discussion. Fair enough, and i have the right to discuss what is being said, especially if it is about me.
If someone wants to discuss a comment you made - why not - we are all posting on a public forum :)What so because it's an open forum the op can come on here and slate me and others after she's had a go on people on another thread for being rude etc? thats what i meant by double standards.
(Having said that - I don't believe anyone said anything too offensive on that thread - I just think if it's said on a forum, it's all up for grabs. Plus - I don't think it was your reply which they found childish - I thought your reply was a good response to the original OP. Sorry - I've probably stopped making sense now) Read the reply i made specifically to this OP on said thread, then read this
I know! I posted on "most expensive loan" thread but am not even going to bother to rise to the pathetic comment my post received. Childish! Will definately stick with this board even if I need loan advice!

Having said that, I do take the OP's point - DFW is a very cosy board compared to others on here - I think that is a good thing, as many people need the support, friendliness & sense of community it provides.
I'm not trying to be petty but i beleive that if you got a problem with what someone has said to or about you then either confront them or leave it, not go running to other people about it

    OP
If you have a problem with someones reply to your post (i'm gathering it was my reply that you deem 'childish')

Are you absolutely sure it is you that's the problem on the Loans board? Referring back to the OP:

Earlier today I went for a browse on the Loans board and was really shocked by some of the sarcastic, nasty responses to perfectly reasonable posts.

That seems rather firmly embedded in the plural. Which - if it is just you - would indicate you make a habit of making a number of sarcastic and nasty responses to posts. Why would you do that then?

Or do you think there is a greater malaise?

yeah and where is the rest of the OP?
I felt I had to defend someone and point out board etiquette. As expected I received a snotty response
it doesnt take a brain surgeon to work out seeing as i was the only one who replied

I never go on the loans board, but i saw the thread about provident and decided to give my take on it, which if you bother to read the thread wasnt nasty or sarcastic.

I'm still not sure why you think the OP had a problem with your reply on the other thread - your points on the other thread were good points well made and not in the least sracastic

Before your 1st post on this thread, the OP posted the comment she had problems with in the other thread - and it wasn't yours !

This is why I'm confused as to why you would be making a fuss when no comment of yours has been commented on (if you see what I mean). No one has 'slated' you in any way, or made a comment about any comment you made - that's why I feel that there has been an over-reaction to a very small issue - i.e someone having a bit of a moan about a comment in another thread, which I believe everyone is entitled to do.

I have pointed out twice on this thread already where the OP was talking about me.
The bit where i said she had double standards!
I'm not saying she made this thread about me, but if she had a problem with my childish, snotty, and pathetic comment, then why not confront me about it instead of running over here?

If Miss Marple is confused we should get Sherlock Holmes in :p

I have no idea when I read this topic yesterday which specific posts etc but I think this thread has certainly gone childish.

It is true on a message board / forum only post what you don't mind being commented on.

I often post on the Loans board as many of the questions raised there are to do with 'debt' as a result of the shoddy service that many borrowers have received from their creditors.
Wherever applicable, I would always point people to the DFW forum, simply because of the 'lambasting' that they seem to receive from other, less friendly' posters who use that board purely because it is less frequently moderated than the DFW Board - even though both topics are totally inter-related.
I am pleased to see that the subject of Debt Collection DOES get an 'airing' on that board, but I, like many others here, am apalled at the standard of many of the replies. Not surprising that many of the 'Newbie' posters are 'one post wonders'.
Perhaps there should be a link from both the 'Loans' and 'Credit Card' forums, directing posters to this board if their query is about debt as the consequence of 'loans'.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

LOL - it is all getting out of hand a bit, but I do have to point out that you made an assumption.

If you read the whole thread back, you will see the post in teh other thread that the OP of this thread thought was a bit mean (and honestly - it wasn't yours).

I'll bow out now, as, like rayday says, it's all getting a bit silly - and I'm guilty of that myself - I just wouldnt't let it lie :D

LOL no i havent made an assumption, 2 comments on this thread were directly about me, i have read and re read both posts, and the other thread, and quoted the part which were said about me, if you cant see that then that's not my problem.
I'll leave the thread seeig as the OP who my initial post was directed at hasnt responded, i'll leave it.
But as everyone else keeps saying, she posted this thread on a forum and i excersised my right to post and comment on it.

Honest - just look at Squirrel's post at 8.30am yesterday (sorry, can't see post numbers as I am in post mode). The post she has copied in there is the one she thinks is a bit mean.

No-one is saying you have no right to reply - as I said in my 1st post on this thread, everyone should be allowed to comment on whatever they feel they want to.
