Great news on the potential PPI.

When I looked further into it I realised I already knew that the first year's subscription fees were £0. It says it clearly on their website and I had read it before. I had noted it on the proposal I gave to my boss! I just got excited when I read it in a different area on the website and I had already convinced myself I had to pay £115 more. Definite good news though :)

In not so good news, I fell off the wagon today. Not spectacularly, and it would have been more spectacular if I had gone with my first thought as I fell, but the £6 grocery money is gone, as is an extra 55p. I don't want my reasonings to sound like excuses so I'm not going to bother putting them on here but I will say that I woke up in pain yesterday (first time in a few weeks) and it's still here today so I tried to be kind to myself. It would have been so much worse but I managed to check myself. It's hard to fight pain at the same time as everything else :(

Anyway, I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off and climbing back up over those big ole wheels. I know it's just a tiny bump in the road and doesn't mean I can give up completely ;)

On a bright note, I've just had a nice lunch :)

Things are definitely looking positive right now.

Another positive thing which I've only just remembered: I had a slight bus card mishap this morning and went to my wee pot hoping there would be enough change to get to work. The pot lives behind a big pile of paperwork which I keep meaning to tidy away :o Anyway, when I opened it, it had (has) £15 in notes in it! I thought I had emptied it and only had about £2 in it.
This actually means that I haven't gone over the grocery budget because £4.50 of what I bought earlier wasn't groceries (it was a notepad and a folder for studying :o). Having a wee coffee date with boyfriend tomorrow after work so I'll take the £10 and it means I can pay my way. I'll leave the £5 where it is and put any change back in.

Had a take on Jack Monroe's Sort of Paella for tea tonight. I didn't have peas, green beans or large tomatoes so I put in chopped up courgette and chopped up piquante peppers that I had in the fridge. LMG told me I could make it again. She's my biggest critic so that means it was good. Also it was accidentally vegan!

The pain is not so bad if I sit still. I need to do the dishes (just the pot and spoon, LMG did the bowls and forks but she doesn't ever do the pot right so I do that). I'll do that then watch some tv and should be in bed by 10pm.

I gave in and topped up my bus card today. I was going to pay for a single ticket to work then walk home but I just don't think I would manage that far without causing myself extra grief.

It's not a huge deal, I bought it on my cc and when I get paid tomorrow I will transfer the funds to the cc account. It's no different from what I would normally do, just that I don't have the funds to cover it today.

I do, you're right :) I can walk it, I have before, but now is not the right time.

I paid my share of coffee with boyfriend tonight. £6 odds. We then took a wander to M&S food which is in the shopping centre. We have had good YS deals from there before and we knew it was around the right time. I planned to use the change from the coffee. I got:

6 mini (bite size) bacon & cheese muffins 33p
    Bag of coleslaw mix 10p
    250g sticky ginger loaf 20p
    Marinaded mozzarella balls 33p
    25g bag of chives 8p
    Total: £1.04

LMG and I ate the mozzarella between us. OMG it was good!

I split the coleslaw mix into 4 portions, froze 3 and made up the 4th with mayo, salad cream and half a teaspoon of dijon mustard. It's only enough for 1 person, or could do two just for a taste, but it is very tasty.

The mini muffins are for my lunch tomorrow with the coleslaw portion (unless LMG gets there first).

I have potatoes in the cupboard so I'll make up potato salad with the chives tomorrow.

I will cut the ginger loaf into slices tomorrow. It can't be frozen but it's best before and it's just a little loaf so will last about 3 days. I'll try to find an air tight container.

We then went to Lidl and I got (no reduced stuff):

    Bread 49p
    Mayo 59p
    Croissant 35p
    Chocolate 89p
    Total: £2.32

I have about 6 slices of bread left in the freezer but I like toast for breakfast and the odd sandwich/toast at lunchtimes so I don't like to run out.

I finished the last mayo last week but was waiting until payday to get more.

Croissant is a treat for me for tomorrow at work (I get bad food envy and my colleague had one today, I was so jealous :()

The chocolate was for LMG but I have had some too.

£3.36 spent on food. I can't remember how much the coffees were but I went a few pence over the £10, in total.

Boyfriend and I used to go for coffee a lot when we first started dating. We've not done that so much over the past few months, mainly for financial reasons. I have just remembered that I usually get decaf coffee. I'm soooo wide awake :coffee:  I'm guzzling glasses of water right now to try and flush it through but if caffeine is a drug then will it have absorbed into my system and therefore unable to be flushed through? Either way, there will be an extra trip to the bathroom between now and 6am.

Couple of other things in my head:

I sent the £50 from the holding account across to the loan account today. The next monthly loan payment is due out of my account on Thursday so I'll call them on Monday next week for an updated balance. I've only overpaid by £100 and I've made (or will have by then) 8 monthly payments.

I received a text message today from the bank dealing with my PPI claim saying they'll send me SMS updates about my claim. Not sure how long it will take but at least I know they have the claim.

Going to finish this glass of water and attempt sleep.
