Bored of the attack replies tbh
Seriously? How do you think this ridiculous, gossiping guff makes you look?milkand1sugar wrote: »Our current speculations are:
- Our higher management is made up of total idiots who can't employ people. I'm doubtful as we do alright at the end of the day
- Their husband is mates with her own boss. Very unlikely though
- They're sleeping with higher management. One person here honest to God swears on this
- They are just mates with a few people who can pull the strings at HR. Possibility as our HR system is corrupt
- The company cares more about relationships than its own efficiency. Possibility but we can't work out what they even bring in that aspect0 -

I've not worked for a totally incompetent manager. I have worked for managers with communication skills developed in a bog, and bullies. But one thing they had in common was being able at office politics. They knew how to say what needed to be said to those higher up than them.., and blaming people lower than them is part of that. It sounds like from what you say, there could be some justification for that.
You won't be able to change how things happen at work, its too powerful a force.
Your only options are to change jobs or become unemployed or join the game and be better at the office politics than they are. I'm afraid it doesn't sound like you will be able to do that right now. Stop being critical, look at what they DO do that keeps them in their job, even if you hate their guts. It must be something. In today's world, sleeping with a superior is not going to keep you in a job. That sort of thinking is just going to keep the situation going. It all sounds rather defensive on your part.0 -
I'm not sure what business it is of yours how this manager got the job.
If you don't like their management style then leave.
Presumably if they're that incompetent then their manager will soon catch on and take the necessary action0 -
You need to identify which stakeholders are the ones that need to address the problem.0

We had a conversation recently to discuss if they would survive as a new starter or a temp here. Our thoughts were no chance. They struggle with learning and have a poor grasp of empathy. They seem challenged when it comes to coping with emotions. They're impossible to negotiate with as they simply stomp their feet and demand it their way. Yet when opposed, they can easily become quite feeble.deannatrois wrote: »In today's world, sleeping with a superior is not going to keep you in a job. Also I'm not sure what you mean about defense. We're all experienced and well adjusted people in the sector and we all agree that they are an outrageous individual with few morals who doesn't deserve their position. There's not really a situation at hand; nobody is in trouble. We all work hard. We simply want to know how this happened.0
